That Sammy shot looks close to what I`m seeing. Only I have a brighter blue ring around the bright stars. I see the smudging you refer too however mine is blue. Might be the color saturation is set too high. I`ll try lowering that.

Great video Carl. Love the colors. Man I can't wait to get my rig and finally do what you all are having fun doing.

Thanks for all your feedback. I love to use the LN300 as a wide field comparator between the Mallincam Jr on my C8 and the Orion 50mm guide scope and the LN300. Those 17 second integrations on the LN really pull in all the detail. I still haven`t tried any in camera stacking yet due to the fact it`s too much of a pain with the tiny buttons and jumping around in the menu. Going to have to modify it for a remote hand control or try controlling the camera with my laptop. Has anyone succeeded at that yet. I don`t know if it is possible as it isn`t modified at all. What modifications would it need? For anyone that has done it how about a tutorial on the procedure. I`ve had the back off and it looks like it would be pretty easy due to the space inside to work with.
I`d appreciate any feedback on that.
Regards,
John Suscavage (joebuck)

Being you are not using the iris control plug why not eliminate it by snipping the wires free and using it with a matching male connecter to the OSD wiring connections inside the camera body? Going to open mine up again to check out that possibility.

I just checked inside again and can now see the problem. The whole rear section is an integral unit and can`t be taken apart without unsoldering everything connecting the rear finish plate and its mate PC board inside. Don`t want to start messing around with that.
Well forget about adding the image. I`m getting that file size exceeds limits in red again. Even though I select 640x480 (for message boards). Why does this error keep occurring? -

Another try. Still getting FILE_SIZE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED in red letters even when I choose 640x480 (for message boards) size!!!!! Get the same message whatever size I choose. Something is wrong with the postimage.org site I think!

The picture is of my LN300 with the battery and monitor I use. Very compact and the 7.5 AH battery will power one camera and the monitor for over two nights use before a recharge is needed.

Glad your up and posting! Thats a handy portable setup for dark sites. Its a great camera although I've used it once so far and havn't had a chance even to use the fan, hopefully soon.
Its has taken the best Jupiter I have ever imaged and the Orion video was not near full exposure.
Definately a keeper.
