Well after many attempts at getting some kind of resolution to the matter of my LN300 breaking after only a few uses. The supplier is just blatantly ignoring me hahaha.
Poor customer service to say the least. Paid the best part of $100 including shipping for this camera (plus also bought my finder cam off them). Expected much better support. Poor show Elaine!

Hi all,
I just want to add a few things from my personal experience with the LN300.
For such a great price I find it well worth every penny. BTW I got it from Ali express back in Late November for $68 an my friend got his for $62 on black Friday. That`s the cheapest I`ve seen it but keep an eye on the site because I guess it goes up and down with their sales. However the present price of $74 and change is well worth it. It is a well made camera. Just a bit hard to get set up properly.
Here are my experiences. First I`m using it on my Orion 50mm helical focuser guide scope with just the 1.25 camera adaptor and no focal reducer as the 50mm is plenty fast already and I couldn`t get it to reach focus with a .5 reducer attached.
My whole set up consists of a C8 with a Mallincam Jr and a .5 reducer on it. Sometimes I add another 6.3 reducer in front of that. I view with a 7" LCD monitor that I got a couple of years back from Amazon for around $30. It`s the type used in a car as a backup monitor. Works well as it has two RCA inputs That can be switched back and forth with just the front control buttons. Similar monitors can also be had from Aliexpress for less than $50.
Now here is a little primer on setting up the 50mm scope focus. BTW do this in the daylight with an object around a mile away. Much easier that way. Also set the camera up to auto in the settings.
Insert the MINI camera all the way into the back of the focuser and lock it in. Them turn the focus ring all the way counterclockwise. Then back a full turn for later fine tuning. If you can`t see anything you will have to loosen up the large stop ring on the front of the objective lens barrel and move it back at least half an inch or so. Now turn the whole objective lens barrel itself back towards the rear of the scope until focus is achieved. When happy relock the large ring back down to the back of the objective ring. You will also have fine tuning with the regular fine tuning ring. It`s easy peasy and will achieve great focus any time you put the camera in all the way and lock it down. In the future you can still use the scope as a guider when using it with PHD guiding and your mount. I found tuning the guide scope this way when I couldn`t get my Modified Phillips webcam to focus. It was almost perfect but wouldn`t focus without moving the objective closer to the back of the scope. Something Orion doesn`t say in their manual. If you have later problems when using your scope as a guider you can always return it to the places it was at in to begin with. No harm no foul. Mine still focuses fine as a guider.
I just wish there was an easier way to use those tiny buttons in the dark. Really a royal pain in the ass. I`ve experimented on my kitchen table during the day and have found my optimum settings by jumping between Rock`s and Matt`s manuals for starting settings Once set up at night I use 17 second integrations on the MINI camera and switch to it after viewing on the C8 for about a minute. That way the LN300 has time to stabilize. I`ve seen some weird integrations before otherwise, like a red or a green screen background before a second full integration. I think it`s just part of the camera`s quirks. Once it stabilizes it`s good after that. I`ll add a couple of images for you guys to ck out. BTW make sure your batteries for your cameras have a good charge on them. I`ve seen some really weird things on the screen when they get below 9 volts or so!
Signing out. I think I`ve rambled on too much already. Excuse my run-on sentences.
Regards,
John Suscavage (joebuck)

I don`t use the guider for guiding with the LN300 because the refresh rate takes too long at 17 second integrations. I just use the 50mm guide scope as a large wide field scope for comparison of the object on my C8. The C8 is doing 4 second integrations and the "guide" scope is doing 17 second integrations. I can switch rapidly between the two right on the monitor, I don`t think the LN300 can really work as a "finder" due to its lack of sensitivity at shorter integrations. I didn`t want to confuse anyone.

I still can`t explain those strange blue eyeball looking rings around the brighter stars though. Nothing on the dimmer objects. The brighter the star the more bluer the ring. Very strange and changing settings doesn`t seem to help.

Hard to tell what they are Joe havnt seen that pattern before but I have had strange results with SLR lenses with the bright stars being very "smudgey" this was with a Samsung.

Rob - Sorry i must have missed your question. The problem with the cam is its not giving me any video feed. The power light is on but getting nothing. Tried it with loads of different cables. Opened it up made sure all cables were secure. But everything is fine. No idea whats up with it.
John (joe?) - Great info thanks for sharing! I know next to nothing about guiding but are you sure the ln300 wouldnt work? Im sure i read that you just need some guide stars and PHD software does the rest. Pretty sure you could get them with about x128 sense up. But never done it so could be talking mince. On the 'blue stuff' thing... i have no idea what that is. It always annoyed me a bit. You can see big blue rings round the moon in the first post. This seems to be present in most pics i see taken with this cam (also the micro). There is a huge thread over at CN. There they said it was 'noise'. No idea tho.
Davy - I know Hemmi uses a meade DSI and his finder to guide. Posted some great results.
