Hi just thought i would give a review on this camera so far. Please remember that im new to all this stuff and this is by no means a technical review!
I bought one of these a few weeks ago based on an impressive spec and good reviews. The camera is made in Hong Kong and can be purchased for £45 with free delivery (might take a while tho). Faster delivery options cost extra. A BIG plus with this camera is that when purchasing if you tell them to remove the IR filter they will remove this for you (and give you it in a bag). Saving you the pain of doing it yourself

This camera is tiny! The length of a cigarette lighter. And very light at 150g.
Here is the spec:
1/3" SONY 960H EXview HAD CCD II
Resolution of 700TVL
Min.Illumination:0.0003Lux Sens-Up(X1024)
Real-WDR/OSD/3D-DNR/Sens-Up(X1024)/DIS/Digital Zoom(X10)/Motion Detection/Privacy Mask(PM)/Hight Light Mask(HLM)
The menu can be a bit tricky to get the hang of at first. And any settings that are changed will revert back after a while if not saved.
Heres a pic of the entire instruction manual that came with it haha.
After playing around with the settings and getting the colour right this wee camera punches above its price tag! Having the ability to set sense-up to x1024 (20 secs) in my opinion seems to give it the edge over the samsung (that can only go to x512) in terms of the amount of colour and to a lesser extent the contrast that can be pulled out.
Due to the way the menus are so different its very tough to do a straight comparison with the LN300 and the SCB2000. Ive still not worked out the best settings for the LN300 so im sure i can improve the results ive had so far. But even still i would say it comes out on top. However the views have a different 'feel' to them in my opinion... and some may still prefer the scb2000!
Here are a couple of snapshots from videos i captured using the LN300. Both at x1024 no processing done at all. M57 Ring neb and C4 Iris neb that i took a couple of nights ago.
And a link to a video i captured of the moon using this camera last week.
Ive only had a couple of sessions with the camera so I'm still trying to get to grips with it. One problem im having is seeing some mad blueish crap where it should be black space……More playing around is needed.
But at the end of the day I'm happy. For a £45 camera you really can't go wrong! The menu can be tricky to work at first but other than that its a joy to use
Recently the prices of the SCB2000 have been going up. The odd one shows up on ebay now and then for under £70 but there is no consistent supplier. So at the very least if you can't find a cheap samsung consider the LN300!
EDIT/UPDATE: Camera broke after a few uses...Supplier unwilling to help.
