Weather is looking good for tonight, I plan to broadcast around 8:30PM my time or 12:30am GMT.
I will be testing the new Mallincam Jr Pro/PC version. Also plan on trying out the 7nm HA filter tonight.
Regards,
Hemmi

I had a stupid camera issue that caused me issues all night. It was a stupid mistake. Earlier when testing during the day I reset the camera and it turned the ACG to ON not manual. So I fought with it all night. Of course it was something silly. So no I never really got much of a chance.
I do plan to broadcast tomorrow night, but I will be doing the moon in HD

I attempted the moon last night with my VRC, but I was unable to get a good focus. I mean it was impossible to even get close. I tested focus on a star with my focus mask and was able to reach focus no issue. But the moon was just a big blur.
I am assuming this was because of bad seeing, but never seen where I don't even get glimpses in focus. I could make out craters, but best I could due was still way to blurry.
It was almost as if my scope was completely dewed over, but no Dew anywhere.
Anyone ever seen it this bad with perfectly clear skies?

Hate when it turns out to be a school boy error i think so far I've made the same mistake 4 times haha! Leaving the reducer on when adding a barlow and wonder why everything is still tiny lol. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with both the HD cam and when you get the chance to use the narrowband filter!

Whenever i focus on a star using the mask then move to the moon im still in pretty good if not perfect focus! Did you try the view direct to a tv / screen without using software?

Worked fine with my DOB using same software. So only two things changed, 1: I changed scopes, 2: different seeing. I'm gonna give it another go tonight and see. I will be on late playing tonight, do not have to be up early. Conditions look much drier tonight so we will see! If I dont have any luck with this cam and my VRC, the mallincam will be going back on to play with the H-Alpha filter.

I've had 3 gloriously sunny mornings and reasonably good clear nights, but no Mount. My mount came back yesterday and guess what. 80% cloud cover.

I figured out my focus issue, My VRC was severely out of collimation. I never checked this because it has been stated that these are perfect from factory. Well mine was not. It was causing all images to be soft. So now I need to get this thing collimated right before I attempt to broadcast again.
Before I checked collimation, I did try m42 with H-Alpha. It was very interesting. I will post in a few min.

M42 was super low, and of course the image soft due to collimation. Also many hot pixels due to 60+F degrees and hazy skies. But overall I pulled out some of the outer nebula I have never been able to see before from my camera. I think this will be a winner this summer on the summer nebula's.

Missed another of your broadcasts Lee. Its getting harder to catch you online now that the daylight hours are extending and we are in summertime hours. I must make an effort to stay up later and watch. The snapshots look pretty good.

It seems a lot less people were on last night. 3 broadcasters and a lot of regulars missing. I guess many were in bed or out enjoying the Sat night. I didn't even start broadcasting till 10pm. So that's way to late for you!
