Stupid animals! I have to dodge them every time I drive. Our town is full of them and surrounded by them. It's a damn takeover They really are a nuisance and a hazard. The sides of the roads are littered with dead ones, and they stink bad! Yeah Ken . They cause so much trouble when I am out on the bike. You never know which direction they are heading. Davy, I was in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful city but it rained every day I was there. UK is very expensive compared to Oz. cheers Paul Should try buying astronomy kit lol .I'm about 30 miles from Edinburgh and 15 from Glasgow and it feels like it rains non stop at times..had really bad weather last weekend..didn't bother to go out.. lots of flooding in Scotland

Fantastic photos again Harry! Thanks. I especially like the one of Luskentyre Beach. It looks like an Aussie beach with all that beautiful sand. This one:

Davy talks about 4 seasons in one day in Scotland, they certainly have had that today with storm Babet hitting Scotland quite hard. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-scotland-67146840I worked for a company that did trawler engine spares and my boss advised me to take waterprof clothing with me even though it was a hot summers day when I set off from Yorkshire to go to Scotland. I only got soaked once before I always had waterproofs with me. One famous weather forecast cockup was on the 15th of October 1987 when a woman called the BBC and asked if there was a hurricane coming. She was told no: - There was a lot of damage in SE England. I was at Oban on the West coast of Scotland doing deliveries and the locals just laughed it off, 'we get wind like that all the time' I did notice that buildings in Oban were made of large stone blocks and not 6 inch bricks like most of the UK.

Stay safe Scotland, we know exactly what hurricanes (Cyclones) can do.

Hi guys survived the storm,, or if it wasn't raining a good day for drying laundry lol .was pretty rough in places,,Peterhead and Aberdeen took a fair bit of the storm..Carol stayed up that way and had never seen the waves so bad.. Back in sunny cumbernauld I was out doing wee bits to the scopemobile,, second interior light got fitted and heat shrunk connection on cable to the outside 12v socket..I had the Chinese night Heater on lol was a bit baltic when I first went in the van.. I had bought a cb radio to go in the van wired it up but..the airwaves were silent,,so waste of time going ahead installing it. Probably go with an rtl and scan the frequencies and check out weather satellite stuff at some stage.. Final prep for Scottish star camp in November..tried getting asiair app and synscan app on my tablet.. wouldn't entertain it.. working asiair app on my phone a struggle so tried bluestacks software..that would drive you to drink working that our,, so said bugger it and ordered a new doogee tablet to run the portable set up inside scopemobile

Good that you made it through the storm Davy. Nasty buggers they are.
Clever having the white and red in the same light housing.

Official explanation - 'GB population size & distribution The population of the red-necked wallaby in Great Britain is unknown. Established populations exist, in Scotland and on the Isle of Man (where there are an estimated 1740 wallabies). A colony in the Peak District (Derbyshire) is now thought to be extinct, as no individuals have been seen since 2000'.
I live in county of Derbyshire and have not heard of any sightings of Wallabies.
I think I would rather have them than Cane Toads..........
I like ampibians, I have 2 resident frogs anf a Smooth Newt colony in my wildlife pond. It is a real priviledge to have them there.

Funny thing is guys,, I'm heading to Loch lomond today with the campervan,, it's bloody freezing in Scotland just now,, heading to a small iconic place called luss,, staying at the campsite for next two nights,, taking my portable kit,, was away last weekend,,stayed the night at Burntisland before going to the Crook of Devon and staying the night in the grounds of tullibole Castle.. was there as part of astronomy Scotland doing a meet and greer session with the public ,,took up the portable kit,, was a disaster,, could not get my camera to focus,, then it got really cold,, scope dew and binocular dew,, went visual for a while till everything frosted over... Got to see Saturn and Jupiter so wasn't bothered,,I had a feeling I wasn't going to get a good night as I hadn't got any prior testing done.. going to take same set up to Loch lomond today.. try again..
