Davy, First dont just plug everything in thats a no no - honest "slowly slowy catchy monkey" is the best approach. 1. the RPI4B uses 5.2v and 3.5amps min so what do you say the Phone charger rating is (and it must be continious rating not peak) - yes I know you were an "Alex". 2. Disconnect little HDMI and use just the TV HDMI connection - boot up - do you see anything on TV ? NO proceed to (4) On first launch/power up you will be asked questions (if I remember right) -one is about resolution 3. Until you get it all working DO NOT CHANGE Passwords , username etc. 4. As a back up plan use the Web Browser NOVNC connection or REALVNC viewer - I am assuming here that everything is working but you cant see it :-) Remember you have to be connected to the same network -e.g. If just using Wifi then laptop or whatever must be connected to the Astroberry AP. I tend to use the WIRED connection on my home network as it faster and less hassle - to begin with anyway. If connected to WiFi IP address of Astroberry will 10.42.0.1 so use this address NOT domain name or local host. If connected via WIRED ethernet you will have to check on your Router for the IP address given by your Router - again use this in Web Browser or Realvnc viewer. On the Web Browser (referenced by the name NOVNC) just "connect" to the Astroberry (it will ask for the std pasword "astroberry") for now dont use the Indi set up bits yet. If you are connected ok go to (4) else shout for help again. 5. The Resolution of any screen can be changed (amongst other things) via the util RAPI-CONFIG (all lowercase) which can be started via the Menu or from a terminal command line (like DOS/ windows command line screen - black with flashing cursor). You may also have to change some settings in a config file but don worry at the beginning. NOTE when using 2 HDMI the refresh rate drops to 30HZ not 60HZ - so that will effect your TV/Screen devices if they support refresh rates For bedtime reading www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/hdmi-config.mdwww.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/raspi-config.mdOk thats enough to blow your mind to start with - it does get better :-)

This is probably the blind leading the blind here Davy, but a couple of things I did which didnt work, followed by a couple of things that did. Formatting the miccro sd with win 10 didnt work. I formatted it with sdcardformat which you download. I used balenaEtcher to flash the sd card.Astroberry booted up without a hitch except fora password hassle. Hope that helps. cheers Paul

Hi Paul,, think my problem is that I just cut n paste the astroberry to sd card,, My sd card was brand new,, so didn't format or use the program to flash it,

Paul is right. You need to image the SD card, not copy the image to it ;-) The easiest way is to use Etcher software, which will transfer everything from a downloaded image to SD card, bit by bit. Then you can boot from SD card

Update 😁 Used a USB keyboard and mouse,, connect all up and went for it,, went for the smart Alex approach to see what happens,, as this is what most folk would do. And all OK.
Couple of times it asked for password nd I typed in astroberry,, no problems.
So I know have the cracking desktop image and it looks cool 😁
So help time.. Can't see task bar,, not wide enough to see info,, I can hover see kstars and PhD.. How do I change 😁
Next up, on right of task bar I found the connect to net work,, Found astroberry on my laptop WiFi and connected. How do I get remote access to rpi via laptop

How do I get remote access to rpi via laptop Use your Web Browser and go o 10.42.0.1 and then press start followed by Connect OR Download Realvnc viewer for Windows ( i presume that what you are running) - it has the advantage ,IMHO, to adjust screen res on laptop on the fly so you should see Menu and Top Task Bar

You need to change the resolution. Either run 'sudo raspi-config' on your terminal or use Menu/Preferrences/Raspberry Pi Configuration

On the screen problem, I right mouse clicked on desktop and changed my task bar to very big setting.. Gave me enough to work with.
So made some moves lol. Ditched the big TV and found my 10" hdmi monitor,, plugged in, And it's perfect,, all taskbar as it should be,, Bluetooth mini keyboard fitted as well,, perfect.
Got Internet on the pi via my phone hot spot,, yet again no problem. Drag and dropped the cdc and ccdceil on to desktop shut down and restarted astroberry. Icons still on desktop.
What can I say,, all went brilliant tonight just need to download nd install the software old stash mentioned and get the remote access from laptop up n running. So impressed with this I think I will be buying a second raspberry pi. And installing Astroberry on it as well e

I did buy a pc stick to do this kind of set up previous,, wasn't overly impressed,, and seemed a very easy to break set up and got bulky and wasn't as portable as hoped. The astroberry and rpi I can recommend as a much better option so far,, cdc I've used before so I know how good that is,, the camera software I will need to try a few times,, Well impressed,, if you haven't bought one yet.... Why not 😁
