Good morning everybody.i am geppi from italy. Can i ask some tips for setting the menù function in ln300 camera with sony super had 2 color sensor (650 tvl)? For now i start in this mode: sense up to off. color mode on.3dnr to low (what is 3dnr..?)shutter to × 512 or less (depending on the object to shot) agc to low or auto. Is right? I missing some other functions to trim? P.s.: the built in ir filter as removed and i use a frame capture usb dongle over laptop with astrovideo software. The scope is a sw mak 127 with goto. very thanks to all and forgive me for ignorance and bad english. dark skyes to everybody. ....

Hi Geppi, It sounds like you have a good idea of the settings to use. Its been a while since i used my ln300 (think its broken lol) Its not much help but i made a video showing me changing from x512 to x1024. I can see that i was using AGC set to OFF. astrovideoforum.proboards.com/thread/67/ln300-set-sens-x512-x10243DNR is 'noise reduction' i think. Basicaly start low then increase to improve your image. Same with AGC start with it off and increase if possible. (however from memory i dont think the ln300 worked well for me with AGC on but i think light pollution effects this) Edit: Ohh i should mention that its advised that you get a 'IR cut filter' for your camera since you have removed the factory filter. I use a baader neodymium filter (IR cut and light pollution filter) and find it works well from my light polluted sky You can see some comparison pics of with and without here: astrovideoforum.proboards.com/thread/58/baader-neodymium-filter

Another question please:i hear notice that 3dnr is like a staking frame, maybe 5 at max level.it's a tale or is a right notice? Or need some mods to make that?

Eh no mate 3dnr is just a feature that reduces the 'noise' you see. It stabilises your view to make it clearer. The camera will not stack frames. When you set x256... what the camera is doing is opening its shutter for around 5 seconds. Then it produces 1 frame with 5 seconds worth of light. x512 opens the shutter for 10 seconds and produces 1 frame with 10 seconds worth of light. You will need other software to stack frames. Hope this helps

Hi Geppi 3DNR is (Digital Noise Reduction)which cuts noise at low light levels to give a better picture.
I also used the AGC off last time out and Gamma set to 1, brightness to 1 or 7.
If that helps.

Hi Chris, This seems like a good price and cheaper than making one, do you have one or know if they are any good? I'm thinking for the Equinox ED80 and CR6. Cheers

Nice one Chris, I'll give it a go at that price and see how it performs.
Thanks

Question tho man... Don't you already get a pretty sweet FOV with the equinox? Wouldn't most things be far too small if you reduce more? Would prob only be useful for m31 & m42?

Yeah it's a great FOV but I'd only use the reducer when I'm using the Equinox as a finder which right now is the case. I may not need it once I tighten up my Goto Accuracy but at that price it's worth a go. I'd also like to see how it fairs against the MFR5.
