Is the finder longer than a SW 9x50, it looks massive or is the cam making it look big. by the way, nice mod Chris

Just had confirmation that 960H EXview bullet camera from the link above doesnt have sens-up Ive went for the 650 tvl x512 bullet cam instead.

Its only £1.50 so cant go too wrong Im guessing you will be going for the 12.7mm one? Is the 13mm finder you mention the external diameter or internal? If external will need to go with the 10mm i guess.

How are you planning on attaching the camera to it?

Chris with the C/CS threads removed from the camera it has threads around 30mm the same as the scope so a bit of sanding should be able to get it to grip, well thats the plan so far

I was going to suggest just wrapping your finder with something to bring it up to enough thickness to hold the nosepiece securley then maybe add a compression ring or something. But that would mean your too far away to get focus i guess?

Chris its an awkward one the camera body needs to be touching the finder body. Also the the finder holder dosnt give enough room to use the outer tube of the finder. So what is used to connect them has to be inside the finder body.

And one attached to the scope First thing i noticed was they didnt remove the IR filter like they said They gave me a IR filter in a bag with it. But after removing the lens there is clearly still a pink IR filter on it. However and this is a very interesting point... This camera has x1024!!! It only has x512 sense-up... But as you know we always turn sense-up off and use shutter speed. In electrical shutter settings it goes up to x1024!

1024x Thats a bonus. If its just for finding you could leave the IR filter on Chris.

Got the bullet cam tested out tonight on the finder scope. Seems good. Here is the bullet cam in the 8x50 finderscope at x512 (i think). And for size comparison the same target in the main scope with the sammy at x512 using the 0.5 reducer

Well done Chris. I just did some measuring using stars in your images and it works out that the finder camera/scope is 4x the FOV of your main camera/scope. The bullet camera image is surprisingly good In these two images compare the Blue lines, then the Yellow lines. 1:4 scale Attachments:

Ahhh good idea Ken thanks for that! Good to know.
Yeh i was surprised by how good it looked too. And that was just a very quick play about with the settings no doubt it can be greatly improved.
In reality... i dont see me using this as a findercam lol. Its just so much easier and faster to pop in the eyepiece to do the alignment in my opinion. But once aligned the finderscope is never used...so at least now i can use it to get a wider view of things.

I'm now practicing running the DVR monitor with 4 views back to my Dazzle and onto Miloslick. Regards Karl
