Have you thought about an old trampoline ring as a runner. Hey Davy, that's a brilliant idea!!! IF it's the same size as his dome. That would be one of those ideas that needs to be done the other way around. Measure a Trampoline ring then make the dome size to match. Cool idea!

Lol yeah Ken bugger! haha the only good thing about it is that i work night shifts on the weekdays and am off the on the weekends so those lights stay off, the only light source in back of my house are those pesky apartments in the background, mainly 3 bright lights that shine in my direction but 2 of em are out so not so bad.

They make a light-put'er-out machine that will finally put out that 3rd light. It's made by a company called Daisy.

Hi Kenn,, the wheels look a bit on the small size by what I surmise , given the small footprint of the wheel I think you are going to need a few to support the weight of the dome,,the other problem you may have is if these wheels are running on wood,, if left a while in one position it may indent the wood,,,, going by my research less wheels are better,,

Davy so each wheel has a 175 lb load capacity bringing it to a total of a 700 lb load on them,i think i can get away with the 4 castors but my thinking was that more wheels the better weight distribution of the dome. Now as for indentations on the wood, well i'm actually going to fiberglass the whole ring of the dome and dome base so hopefully that will take care of that.

Look at this on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371330171642This is the type I would use,,I had initially thought of a rotational square observatory,, disguise mode,,keep the local sticky finger brigade uninterested,,but went with the keep it simple route

Nice! 600kg! Whats that like 1,000+ lbs on the weight capacity. Reason i picked the ones i did was cause they are hard rubber and wont make alot of noise when turning the dome, I've heard alot of broadcasters rotating their dome and WOW it sounds like they are opening an old vault.! But thanks for the heads up, if the extra wheels create alot of friction i'll keep these in mind, Thanks again.
