I didn't think anzac day would mean anything in England or Scotland. I suppose we get a bit self centered and don't think about others who were there.

Finally back into it Today (Saturday). I've had a busy week doing other stuff so it's nice to get back to the Observatory build. Barry continues the welding on the back side of the open end support gusset: That's the gusset completed now: The Roll-Away section finally fully open: This photo is to show why I placed the wheels so far in from the end of the shed. So the shed can go further back than the length of the track: which allows the shed to open further for more sky: and here it is, fully opened: AND FINALLY!!! THE VERY FIRST TEST OF THE ROLL-AWAY SHED

Top job Ken! When do you take visitors? We already do Howie. Always have. We have a group of 12 booked in for next Friday night, plus whoever drops in. We often get Melbourne people driving up and dropping in. This will just add more for the visitors to see

Well, whenever I end up on a junket down that way, I will most certainly send you a PM and ask the prices and most importantly what your plonk of choice is and see if a visit is ok.
cheers

That's easy to answer Howie. Gold Coin donation at this point in time for visitors (that will change soon), and I don't drink alcohol A can of Pepsi Max sounds good though

Great job guys. Many hands make light work. Sorry to hear the rain slowed you up when you were so close too finished, but when its been dry and droughtee you take the rain delay on the chin. In Queensland the last few years its been drought or flood, like 5 floods in 4 years.
Cant wait for you to put your feet up and enjoy it. Thanks for sharing your design, beau.

UPDATE - 13th June 2015It's been over a month since we've been able to work on the Observatory due to the terrible weather we've had. But we finally got a couple of reasonable days to get some things done. So here is the latest update on the build. The Roll-Away shed now has an automatic locking system courtesy of 2 Gate Locks, some Stainless Steel cable, a couple of springs, and a lever We placed a Gate Lock on each side. The locks are opened by pulling on the cable, and the springs makes sure the locks shut again: The Stainless cable runs over Rollers: To assist in moving the shed out of the locks, a lever it fitted: This is the whole system: It works very easy, and so you can see how it works, here's a quick video demonstration:
