Ok, sorry trying to figure how to post and navigate and reply and make it look semi-normal in the right place. This should be my first M31, also last October on the sammie 2000, 1sec exp on the 6in achro at F4 (600mm with 0.5FR). Any more and she blows out more. Dont know how much a filter would help, or god forbid extend exposure time, which is limited, and trailing starts on unguided mount real quick. I was happy to see that first dust lane though. Some of the other sammy DSO pix here look intriguing enough to try.

OK...sorry, just trying to figure out how to add a new post vs replying to some old one. There is no NEW button? I tried on the one above, if it appears above, but it still showed Oct 18. Intent was just a sammy shot from th eother end of scale. 50mm f 1.4 lens on static tripod and 1/3sec. Orion/Sword shot in case this ends up somewhere else. Now...looks like the Post Quick Reply at very bottom, adds a new post? If you click Quote anywhere else you end up in there somewhere. SO Post Quick Reply = NEW Post, and Quote = Reply to which post you are in. Now to figure how to start a new thread or post member images....

Nice pics George. I think you want the create thread button on the top right.

This is my screen shot Curtis, I looked everywhere for a "Create Thread" button or option, even buried in some other button or option. (Maybe Not Available in Canada LOL.

Try going back out to the forum by clicking 'Analogue Cameras' on the top left. The create thread button will replace the reply button.

Well you managed to post the pic George., so you're getting there. This was the image I saw yesterday morning when you had the cloud filter on. Having that cloud did allow you to pick out the stars without blowing everything out. You kinda forget there are so many stars making up the sword. I liked it.
