Hi all had a bit of time to have a quick play with the latest captures, taken with the LN300 and SW 150p (2X Barlow). Jupiter was 2 mins of video stacked, drizzled and cropped in Registax and wavlets adjusted. Orion Neb was in DSS no dark frames just let it do it (colour may not be right) By no means perfect but nice to keep.

Great pics Carl! The M42 looks great with a lot more detail than the unprocessed one you posted But sorry man i MUCH prefer your unprocessed Jupiter from astrovideoforum.proboards.com/thread/199/viewing-tonightThat is just amazing!!! You should take that one to a astrophotography forum... Jessy Pinkman style...open a new thread called 'Video... bitch!'

Yes the drizzle bit I tried dosnt help. It makes the object bigger but not the detail.

Excellent results carl. You will notice with Video Astro cameras that they sometimes tend to give those black rings around stars (Blackeye Artifacts) just like a webcam does. If you want to use your captures for Imaging (using post-processing) there is a great piece of software called 'Loreal' that removes Star Blackeyes. Here is a 3 frame animation I have just made of your M42 showing first your original M42 with star blackeyes, 2nd after being run through Loreal, and the 3rd is one click on 'Sharpen' in Photoshop. Hey Presto, nicer stars. Attachments:

Here's a good example of how Loreal cleans up the Blackeyes. This was my first attempt with it back in 2006 on the Trapezium: Attachments:
