Got a wee half on scope before clouds kicked in again ..jupiter was sitting nit too bad in the view from my flat windows. .lined up finder scope and used flip mirror with 25mm lens..then to a 6.5..and flipped mirror and was sitting looking at jupiter for a wee while.playing with settings for a bit ..wasn't overly impressed by image as I could see the bands with the lens/ Barlow still good step in right direction. .flip mirror defo has been a good investment.

Glad to hear it mate! Sounds like a good buy! Makes a nice change us getting any kind of sky to look at! Something seriously odd is happening! Its meant to be clear again tonight!?!?! If it looks good i will go for a hat-trick of broadcasts... 3 nights in a row! May as well make the most of these strange white dots that have been appearing in the sky the last few nights

Count me out tonight. Hazy cloud as a minimum. I can see the moon, but its like looking through thick fog.

The scopes out for the first time in over 6 weeks and the LN300 is getting a first test hopefully. The moon is up so DSOs maybe washed out. Will see how we get on.

Hi all the full moon was a bit of a pain but here are the results with the LN 300, the SW 150p and Skyglow filter. I have to say the filter didnt make much difference on screen. Jupiter was nice and steady so spent some time on it with a 2X Barlow. Its not the biggest due to my reflector. The first Orion Nebula, well for my light polluted sky it was fantastic! The best setting for my sky was 256X. The second is 1024x and Brightness to 01. I cant use a reducer on this scope so miss a lot. So heres what I saw, enjoy!

It would be nice to see this with the CR6 also to compare, I may try on my next night out.

Very impressive Carl. I've never been able to get a image like yours with my 2000p of Jupiter and its moons, its one or the other, I get a good image of Jupiter without the moons or I get the moons but Jupiter is glowing white, and the quality of Jupiter is far better than I've ever been able to get. I wonder if you had miloslick M42 would stand out even more. all in all excellent images, well done mate.

Cheers everyone! Nice when it all comes together and the mount was behaving.
Johnno, this is the first time I have got Jupiter with moons as well and with more than two bands visible without overexposing. Normally its a rippling two band blob with no moons visible.
Although its the first time using the LN I have to put the detail down to the seeing conditions being excellent last night compared to what they normally are.

Great Jupiter Carl. That would have made an impressive broadcast if you could have shown that 'LIVE'. The M42 with your cam looks very similar to what the Micro produces.
