Hi Robert ... I didn't get to make the video demo'ing this as I had unexpected guests. Give it a go sometime! It is not twice the FOV though ... unless perhaps they are using a 120 degree AFOV EP. Its not precise, but yields a "very similar" FOV. Good enough for someone who is thinking of sticking a camera on a scope ... to get a pretty good idea how it will perform. EG they read on the forums about a particular camera everyone is raving about and buy it ... only to find it has way too much magnification on their scope. The quick test of sticking on an EP of same mm as the sensor, would have quickly shown them very close to how that camera would have performed in their scope (IE high magnification/narrow FOV) and alerted them to that issue. Sticking in some scope camera details into the many online FOV generators shows this relationship. The Stellarium occular plugin with pixel sizes and other sensor data and OTA data shows the following FOV's for 60 degree AFOV EP's. If you go up to 80 degree AFOV EP's the FOV is a third more ... still fine for someone who has no idea if a camera will yield good view or not on their scope of choice ... a very close and easy to do check on their kit. OTA .....Camera..........Larger (H) sensor dim.....Cam FOV..........EP details............................EP FOV ED80....Canon 650d.....22.3mm.........................2.1deg............60deg AFOV 22mm FL...........2.2deg ED80....ASI224.............4.8mm.........................0.47deg...........60deg AFOV 5mm FL.............0.5deg CPC8"...Canon 650d.....22.3mm.........................0.6deg............60deg AFOV 22mm FL............0.6deg CPC8"...ASI224.............4.8mm.........................0.14deg...........60deg AFOV 5mm FL.............0.1deg Cheers Thanks Howie That pretty well nails it. I can't remember where I picked up that information. Might have come from Ken Harrington (Merlin). Robert

Hi All, slowly but surely getting there ! between bouts of health issues but this will be ongoing till i pass But on the brighter note I have been playing around in the Sky pod when I can. I have had the CPC set up in ALT/AZ for a while all worked very well. I now have a pier and now for the install. I did some video work some very basic silly stuff. I was using my Iphone 6 held to my eyepiece to take a shot of the Moon and Video Saturn. Rubbish really but I had a go. I the put the DSLR on the scope and took some shots of the Moon @ F10 the @ F7 . Now sill me I took so may shots I forgot which settings I used lol. Note to self write things down as I do them. For now the observatory is out of action while i set the pier up. But here some images finally of what has been going on and in a few months ill be back with it set up and hopefully and thanks to Howie's advice Ill get some captures in. we shall see. All the best Dave.

Focus looks absolutely perfect Dave To post a video in here you have to first post it to a Video website like 'You Tube', or even as simple as posting it in image storage sites like Flickr, Photobucket, etc. Then you post a link to it in here and it shows up as a video

All three links worked perfectly for me Dave. Thumbsup! First two were individual photos and the third was an album with several photos. Cheers, Howie.
