Is anyone using Win 10. I've installed it and now playing around with the settings. I've had to change a few things round which I didn't like in 10. installed internet explorer 11 and win live mail. I didn't like win edge and the mail app on 10. If you don't like it you have the option of reverting back to your old OS. Personally I think win 8.1 is much better the gui was more or less like win7 which I preferred

Been playing around with it all morning, think I'll revert back to 7pro on this dell machine. usb3 is running at usb2 speed and Win10 wont let me download the usb3 chipset. I've disabled UAC but still the same keeps blocking it, tried to download a unblocker app and can't do that. So that's one problem that needs to be rectified and I'm only a couple of hours into it. I might reinstall 10 when they sort it out better.
I've got 8.1 on 2 laptops but have it setup to run like 7 which I like, and my gaming machine is staying with 7. They all have ssd drives installed so they boot up just as quick as 8.1 and 10.
right then I'm going to restore back to 7

XP was the last great WinOS. Win7 came close, but because it was built off of one of the worst OSes, Vista, it has always had massive driver support issues.
I hate Win8. If I want a phone/tablet experience I'll buy one.

Had a go at restoring it back to 7 but it didn't work, only if I do a fresh install and I can't be bothered to do that as its a good days work with installing all my other programs and updates so I spent another couple of hours on this and finally got everything working. Tried all the camera's and software's and they seem to be alright now.

Geez John, imagine a total computer illiterate person (like me) having the same dramas you've had. They would throw their computer out the window and hit the bottle Yes Rick, I will be staying with Win7 too.

I have only changed my display name. The username is still lollywater. Jaybee was the name of the softdrink my dad used to make and the company folded in 1981. I spent many hours as a kid behind that bottlewasher.
Back on Win 8 and 10. I have win 8.1 on my main desktop and found it really frustrating ,so much so that I added a Classic Start Menu app which enabled me to navigate 8.1 as if I was using win7. I have a surface pro tablet with win 10 now on it. I have spent a bit of time today fiddling. My impression at this stage is that 10 would be frustrating to use without a tablet. Navigating with just the mouse is not as efficient as the combination of mouse and finger on the screen. I agree with John and don't like Win Edge . It removes a lot of your browser control. Favorites is very clunky. I like the menu bar of explorer but I cant go back to explorer so am using google chrome . Taskview which allows multiple desktops is a good feature . In my opinion Win8 and 10 are tablet os's My computers connected to telescope and cameras are win 7 and they will stay that way. Paul

Been playing around with it a bit more, slowly getting my head around it. I downloaded Explorer 11 says its not compatible but it does work but it's a bit slow. All my other programs and software work ok.
On the restore issues, what I found is that when you first upgrade to 10 it puts a window in your start menu '' restore back to Win7'' or whichever OS you had on. You can only use this ONCE. unless you do a create restore point before you use it. I still have a windows old folder on my hard drive.
Like Paul says a lot of the controls are missing with edge but I just switch between browser's depending what I want to do.
The desktop just looks like win 7, and here is what it looks like when I can broadcast simultaneously on Karl's VAL and NSN at the same time, it's a bit cramped but it does work.
