Just got my new usb live 2 grabber, nice little feature is the 2 led lights that tell you if windows had activated it and the other is when the grabber is digitizing video. Just did 2 comparisons video grabs from what the viewer will receive. 1st is the Chinese copy of eazycap and the other Hauppauge usb live2. still cant get manycam to work. the led's won't light up, but in the menu it see's the grabber. still saying 'cant start video, close all other programs that might be using your webcam.' I cant seem to find anything using it.

But the video quality is good once it comes up. I dont seem to have this wait in amcap or webcammax, just miloslick. Not sure why.

This is where it gets weird. I have an el-cheapo ebay Video grabber called the EasyCAP but it is a different one to the photos Chris shows. Mine doesn't have all those holes in it. Only a small bunch of holes for the activity light. It came with a Mini Disk that is actually called "XH6315 Memory Card Reader Driver". It cost $19 on ebay, and yet it has run faultlessly for me for the last 2+ years. I Broadcast with it regularly. I also have the $80 Mallincam Video Grabber but it has never worked for me. Some computers allow some things to run and others not. Weird huh! This is the EasyCAP I use: Well, a bit of an update. On one of my recent Broadcasts on NSN I was asked by a viewer what Grabber I was using. With Rock Mallin overhearing me when I mentioned that I have the $80 Mallincam Video Grabber but is never worked, he sent me a free replacement. Without me asking for one!! I am pleased to say this one works Thank you Rock. You are a gentleman. I can already tell that this Mallincam Grabber is far superior to the EasyCap I have been using for over 2 years, because when I brought up the Colour Bars in the software they were brighter, sharper and dead still! In the Easycap they are pale looking, have blurred vertical edges between each colour and it flickers a bit (and I thought that was how it was supposed to be ) Now to test it on the sky. I am expecting good things

While I was sorting the pc out last night I set up the cam for a test on the laptop as all my testing has been on the desktop and it turns out manycam will work on the laptop and if I try splitcam with NSN, it opens splitcam all on its own Some how

I don't understand why you guys are trying to connect manycam to the grabber. Doesn't the grabber just grab the analogue signal and display it on the computer screen for you?
If it does this, then you grab that window of your screen with Manycam, not the actual video grabber itself.

The grabber is a converter ..analogue to digital output but still requires software to interpretate what the signal is and display it.

yes, I'm with you on that., and the grabber then displays the digitized image on the computer screen. Its that image you should capture with manycam. Not the actual grabber. Well thats how it works for me. I grab the image off of the desktop. Of course, with analogue cctv cams and grabbers the methodology could be different, but I can't think why it would be. or are you saying that you actually need manycam and a grabber to get a pic onto the computer screen. The grabber on its own will not work. ?

Once I have that image on the computer I then use the WebcamMax and select a certain area. This then gives me a red square which I can move about the computer and resize to the desired shape. Whatever is inside that box is what will show on Webcamax. I do not select any program with WebcamMax I just use the box. The when I log into NSN I select Webcammax not the grabber.

Perhaps this is where I may be confused. I thought it was the grabber on its own that displays the analogue image onto the computer screen. Then Manycam was only used to broadcast on NSN.
Maybe someone can explain.

Maybe someone can explain. Yes it is the grabber that displays the image on the pc but you still need software to do that. For me I use Miloslick to show the grabber and the Webcammax to frame Miloslick. By using Webcammax or Manycam you get to show the all of Miloslick not just the image. So if you want to show people on NSN the controls as you work you can. You can also insert still images, have split screens and all sorts of things and even your complete desktop if needed. From NSN you could simply select the grabber but you will only be able to show the image grabbed and nothing else. So from what I can tell Webcammax or Manycam does not connect to anything you simply use it to frame whatever you want to show.

I'm going to load all the software back on pc and see what happens, is there anyway I can use NSN and 3rd party software without having to broadcast it while I'm testing it out
