i can imagine supermarkets will get in on the act supplying free electricity to shoppers who spend above a certain level at the till, a large screen instore will inform the shopper when their vehicle is fully charged, a low battery to begin with will mean longer time at the shelves, and loaded trolleys. john John, I don't think the traditional big heavy battery will be around much longer. Battery technology is advancing, slowly, but the necessity for a small long lasting battery is highly demanded. I can see in the near future you can pull into a petrol station or supermarket and buy a new cell and swap over the old discharged cell. None of this 'charging for 8 hours' nonsense. We are more advanced than that already. Mobile phones went through the same process. I clearly remember a big battery attached to my old mobile phone that I had to charge all night and if I was lucky I got 8 hours standby/30 minutes talk time out of it. Now I charge my phone for only 2 hours once every few days! Cars will eventually go the same way when the Governments and Fuel companies allow it

that makes sense Ken, just like exchanging a gas cylinder, but it would have be cheap because as I understand it, it doesn't cost much to recharge a electric car over night but if your going on a long journey it would be like just pulling into a service station and filling your tank up.

Your bittom making buttons john...lol..I was the same..
Elec vehicles..think the idea for these in the future is the batteries , use them to get moving then recharge batteries via a dynamo at each wheel..even magnetic propulsion is possible, trouble is big companies and proffits.

Yeah John. A gas cylinder here costs $75 new. Then only $27 to swap for a full one each time after that. Same could be done with Batteries. Initial new one would cost whatever dollars, then cheap to do a swap at a Swap station. Or recharge them yourself at home. The advantage of the 'Swap on the Go' is for long distance travel.

No good davy! You must have really upset Murphy!!! As long as you are OK. Cars can be replaced. Luckily it was after you dropped off your grandson. Could have been nasty for him.

Sorry to hear about your mishap, there's nothing worse than just getting a motor and it gets a knock. As long its just wing and door and the odd bits and pieces I would buy it back off them and don't settle for their first price what they will give for the chariot. When my mk1 Lotus Cortina got written off they offered me a silly price and I asked him if he was on drugs, they offered me another price and I accepted it and then offered to buy the car back at a decent price, I'd just rebuilt the engine about a month earlier got one of the bodyshop lads to do a foreigner and I helped out during the lunch breaks. If I didn't have access to the works bodyshop or wasn't in the trade I would of let it go

Had a long carry on with my insurance company. .the valuation I got was a joke I could not get same car for the money they offered. .and I was told it was a fair offer and the other insurance company would pay out no probs..I went nuts and said no wonder..I sent them an email declining the offer a week later still no reply. .phoned again and was told never received my email..I asked why they never phoned..not there job to phone if offer was rejected they then told me it was the book price from used car guide boy I work with checked on his phone app another load of lies from them..so I made another complaint to my insurance company. .and cancelled them dealing with it..went independent and should get my car next week . second hand wing and door getting fitted and painted. .cant wsit courtesy car got took off me a week ago..got a works van to use in mean time.
