Dream-on Davy.
About 99.9% of the population here in Oz reckon it is absolutely stupid. Me included.
Yeah, it raises awareness of different illnesses. But we are bombarded with so many of these that they have almost lost their effect. We have Red Nose day, Yellow Daffodil day, Anzac Day, Legacy day, Jeans for Genes day, Yellow Brick Road day, White ribbon day (Violence against women), Red Shield day (Salvation Army), Blue ribbon day (Police killed on duty), Pink Ribbon Day (which is actually all year), Breast Cancer day, etc etc etc. We seem to have a 'day' for every illness, disability or social problem. It all gets a bit too much and polls show that people are starting to stop donating because there are just too many causes all competing for our donations.
And that's not counting the bombardment of TV advertising of 'Save the whales', 'Save the dolphins', 'save the Tasmanian Oak Tree', 'Save the Starving Africans', 'Save the starving Indians', 'Feed the world', 'Save the sight of the poor', 'Save the Panda', 'Free the Bears', Support the Tigers', etc etc etc etc . . . .
I'll give it a miss.

being a Facebook challenge and not having one lets you off I suppose. .can see your point in a day for every illness..I don't usually do these challenges ect but just lost a friend to cancer and a neighbour lost his life at the time of my challenge .he was in having a replacement heart fitted after waiting for two years,he developed complications and half his heart shut down he ended up losing a leg to blood clots and fluid in his lungs..he died at 6.50pm last night rip allan.. my personal beliefs are we should stop buying guns and fighting needless wars live in peace and feed the starving and heal the sick. .dream on davy..
