After two years of faithful service, my Samsung SDC 435-based all sky meteor camera has been taken down and replaced with a new one based on a Watec 902H2 Ultimate and Computar 2.6mm f1.0 auto-iris lens. It's all in a new housing and went operational this evening. Below is a still of the first video. The resolution and the sensitivity are both streets ahead of the old system. I’ll hope to post pictures of the camera housing and some videos over the next few days.

That's looking good Michael. Does the 902H2 capture video sequences, or long exposure single frames? I have a spare DMK41 which can be used for fast frame rate video, or I can set it for exposures of several minutes. Its not as sensitive as my cctv video cam for night time work, but can be used more like a dslr for longer exposures. I am thinking of setting it up so I can have both options.
I'd be interested in seeing the pics of the housing and any meteors you capture over the next few days. Hopefully the clouds will clear and the moon will not spoil things too much.

That's looking good Michael. Does the 902H2 capture video sequences, or long exposure single frames? The Watec 902 series cameras have no frame integration function, so it's running at exposures of 1/50th second - recording real time video at 25 FPS. The software records a video and automatically produces a still (JPEG) image of the video sequence constructed from the highest brightness value for each pixel during the video sequence. I was using HandyAVI software to capture sequences with the old set up, but I'm taking the opportunity of the new set up to now use the more advanced (and expensive) UFOCapture software.

That's real nice MM! I have tried multiple times to use my ZWOASI120MC as an all-sky cam (it comes with a 150 degree lens), but I just cant get the settings right. I'm going to just have to break down and do something more dedicated.

I would appreciate some info on your heater/ demister Michael. I am building another meteor station using a couple of cctv housings. My housings have 24v heaters and I would like 12v instead.
