Excellent link Davy. The Nichrome wire version is the exact way I made mine. I even have that same ebay voltage controller! (I bought 6 of them while they were cheap). Here's mine: Because mine are permanently on the scopes I have also taped the Velcro'd ends so they can't fall off (not that they would but I feel better knowing they can't). In this photo I haven't yet fitted the voltage controller.

In this photo I haven't yet fitted the voltage controller. I also use those ebay controllers for my dew heater. However I bought my dew heaters the controllers are the cheap ebay LED PWM controllers. I modded mine similar to the link. I installed a RCA type plugs in the case so I could just plug in a standard dew strap. Hemmi Hemmi
