Looks like things may be hotting up. It looked like it might be a clear night so I set the sky cam running with Handyavi in meteor capture mode. Reviewing the files this morning, it turns out that it was a beautiful clear night. (should have had the scope out) I had my cam settings at AGC 12Db and DSS x8 as usual and captured 8 meteors. Some were Perseids and some maybe the remnants of the Aquarids, bit they all count.
I'm looking at a new lens for a very slightly wider fov, but I shall continue meteor capture regardless every night on the run up to the peak, and hopefully capture a few more before the big moon starts to wreck the night sky.
Here is a compilation of the captures. tinyurl.com/poytals

Fantastic results Allan! One of them is a pearler! the long one shooting from right to upper left from 8 seconds to 6 seconds (how come it counts backwards? )

wow, for a minute I thought you meant the video time was going backwards. I've no idea why the counter goes backwards?
Some are very short and faint. You have to watch hard to spot them.

Nice capture, I saw this on my flickr feed earlier. Makes me want to get busy on my allsky. Just have to find the right location to shield from all the street lights Hemmi

Get to it Lee. Only 10 days to go for the peak of the Perseids. After that its just something to look at and play with when you can't get the big guns out. I actually have the sky cam on all day when I'm at home. Being above the roof it certainly gives me a better view of the horizons. Its quite pleasant, even on cloud days.
