Hi, Recorded my lowest barometric pressure for some years, at 964.8 hPa at 5.29 pm on 29th August, which explains this tornado-like storms / weather. Southern Cross Observatory Cambridge Tasmania.
Caused tremendous damage to buildings, tree, power lines etc, and some quite severe flooding. Nothing to do with climate change, of course!
Clear skies...

Yes Shevill, we have been seeing it on the TV News all day and night. Some severe damage down your way. When I saw the first story I thought of you and hoped you were safe. We copped it pretty hard last night but nothing like Tasmania did. Fortunately tonight's storm warning has been cancelled up my way, but the Coast is till going to cop it. Stay safe. It's going to last till the end of the week! www.abc.net.au/news/2014-07-29/storm-damage-to-northern-tasmania/5631880The last photo is indicative of the wind strength!
