Ok guys. here is a deep meaningful topic a new season of astronomy will be starting soon in the uk and I though how far have I travelled this year in regards to astronomy and video capture.. have I done much/have I learned much am I still happy doing it.
kit wise ..not got much but never needed much..I got my flip mirror that I should got much sooner and a regulated power supply at start of year with chrimbo money.
what have I done astronomy wise ..nothing been very poor for me,I put this down to converting my astroshed to an avairy for carol.
what have I learned. Hell of a lot about forums ..it's hard work but rewarding..met a lot of nice folk and made very good friends namely my fellow admin we all met on sgl as video astronomers and have become great friends. Do I still enjoy the hobby.. a big yes, even though I have done very little on imaging this year I still look at it as being productive could have sat back om sgl and chilled but not my style I had the mad idea for this forum and lucky enough I found guys as mad as me to help where will this season take me..out and about hopefully darker sites and a bit of live broadcasting if not im happy being the captain of this ship...davy

Well for me this season (my only one so far) it has been awesome! Weather was a bit crap over christmas but i would say in almost a year of doing VA I've been out with the scope and cams at least 30-35 times. All things considered thats not too bad However its a mega poor show that I've not once went to a dark sky! Espesially took a trip down to the SDSO (Scottish Dark Sky Observatory) when its only an hours drive away! Next season will different. Im moving to the city and will be getting a more portable setup. Will defo make the effort to get to some dark sites for sure!
