Here is a video I made of what can be seen with a modified Samsung SCB-4000 PAL security camera (also called SCC-A2333) when placed into a telescope.
The camera modification: Removal of Factory IR filter, remote control added.
Telescope used for this example: Saxon 120mm f5 Refractor
Accessories: 0.6x Focal Reducer, Astronomiks 'L' IR/UV filter,
Mount: EQ6 (Atlas) with Skyscan GoTo
All video taken from extremely dark 6.6 mag Skies at Snake Valley, Victoria, Australia.
The lines across the view are star trails as I slew the mount around the sky to zero in on Deep Space objects. The longest integration (sens-up) possible with this camera is only 10 seconds.

Thanks Jeff, and this camera doesn't show them at their best.

Hi Ken, Great way to demonstrate what a camera can achieve, we are also spoilt for choice in the Southern skies, night after night. Neat show.
Clear skies
