I've just hold of Watec 902 camera for use with a fast(ish) lens for recording videos of meteors. The camera is great, but has >20 hot pixels. I should be able to remove these hot pixels from the video using 'iPrep' software, but it's a bit of a faff. Is there anything else out there that can remove hot pixels from videos?
Thanks

I'd be interested in any info on this subject too. I have about 16 or so in my all sky video cam. They won't have any impact on meteor capture, but they sure do make constellation identification harder.

Michael, Miloslick Camera Control Software does. It has a Hot Pixel removal tool for Live Video. The Hot Pixel Removal Tool Found here under the 'Frame Correction Settings' Tab
Miloslick may not be the only one, but it's the only one I know of: www.miloslick.com/MallinCam.htmlMiloslick can be used with almost every type of Video camera as a capture and manipulation software. Mallincam, Gstar-Ex, Mintron, Watec, Samsung security, PD, webcams, etc. But it will only 'control' (commands sent out to the camera) Mallincam.

The only problem there Ken is that I am using Handyavi for meteor capture and it captures the direct feed from the cam. I don't think I can run the feed through miloslick before it gets to Handyavi. I will investigate it further.

Good news. I can use miloslick and manually remove the the 23 hot pixels. (The auto method has no effect). I can then open Manycam, select the Miloslick window and then open Handyavi and select Manycam as the camera. This way, Handyavi records the Manycam window and I have no hot pixels in the image. Good call Ken.
