Ken, you need a bigger desk..
Ken, in the second photo the bottom 2 monitors are they live from the camera and the top monitor is that what we all see on NSN because the tint colour of the video on the top monitor looks better so I guess your adjusting the colour balance before it broadcasts, or am I talking a load of bull

Thanks Chris and Carl. John, the bottom Monitor on the main computer is Live from the camera. The Red rectangular line on top of the image is the WebcamMax View screen. Anything inside that red Rectangle will appear on NSN because I tell NSN that WebcamMax is my camera. I can move that red Rectangle around and show other things on the screen (Imagine the red rectangle as a camera). The top monitor (Main) is what I see when controlling NSN before it goes out to you (A broadcaster sees a different image to what the viewers see). On the small laptop on the left I am logged into NSN as a viewer so I can see what you viewers see The large second monitor (Main) looks better because it is a special Graphics Artists Monitor. Cheers Ken, Looks a bit more to it than just switching it on, so you need at least 2 monitors to make it a bit more easier, and another piece of software [ webcammax ]
That graphics monitor doesn't half make a difference compared to the other 2.
I think I might sign up for broadcasting and do a lot of daytime testing before I start broadcasting

Yeah sorry John. I make it look and sound more complicated than it is, or need to be. You don't need WebcamMax or a second monitor. But because I am going to start using software called Miloslick soon, I need to learn how to use WebcamMax. Unfortunately Miloslick needs WebcamMax to run. The advantages of Miloslick are hot pixel removal, live Stacking, Histogram, Amp Glow removal etc. But if you don't use Miloslick, you don't need WebcamMax. And if you don't use Webcammax you don't need the second monitor. But it can help with Monitor geography. It saves having many programs on the one monitor which is how I used to do it. You might find it handy when broadcasting because you can put your incoming video on one screen along with any control software, then on the second monitor you can have your broadcast open. The small second laptop is just for fun. I browse the internet (good for getting info on objects you are broadcasting, and for using Star Map software). Up until recently I did everything all on the one laptop: Incoming Video capture, outgoing Video control, video software (Brightness, contrast, etc), Broadcasting, star maps, and web browsing Now I have changed to using 2 monitors makes all that a lot easier to see, and use. And also having the second laptop for star maps and web browsing frees up my main laptop even more.

Well I'm half way there then, I use tablet to control scope wirelessly with sky safari pro, and I've got 2 laptops [ 3 when I buy her one hehe ]. Need to buy a electric focuser, iOptron use to do one that worked through the hand controller but I think they stopped selling it for some reason.
Was playing with Miloslick Demo last night with the CR6. hot pixel removal, histogram and amp glow removal worked, I don't understand the stacking bit, set cam at X512sen-up, set it for stacking for 6 frames, but it was whizzing through the stacks at about 6 a second, I would of thought it would stack it every 10 seconds. Maybe its not compatible with the CR6 or any other cam which isn't a Mallin, Also when I click on preferences it would come up with 'program not responding' but I still think its worth a buy.

I have an electric focuser for the ETX that is controlled through the normal hand controller. But it sucks! Its just so slow and so loud! And you dont know what way its focusing. Removed it after a couple of uses. Never used it since.
Miloslick.... i keep hearing about this. I think i will need to try it out. Whats the deal with the demo John? It expire afer so long or does it have limited functionality or something? And how much does the full software cost?

The demo lasts 10 mins then you have to restart program, but it has a big watermark right across the preview window aswell. $49 for the Licence, the demo is fully working only its on limited time www.miloslick.com/MallinCam.htmlI think only mallincam's work with the stacking routine in the software

Yeah, some parts may only work with a Mallincam because that is the Camera it was written for. Any other cameras that it works with are a bonus

Thanks Rob. I haven't changed anything since these photos were taken except my focal reducer. I made a new one because I damaged the last one I made after I dropped it

I had no idea your set up was like this when I viewed on NSN. I am in the middle of doing a spread sheet with lists of equipment, scopes etc for a beginner like me...low budget stuff. With all the info I got from every one here I had so many things book marked so now I will have it all in one place. I will also post this on the website I started a year or so ago.

Ken great webiste. I started my also with Wix (one of three sites I have with Wix) better never did much to it the past year. My other hobby has kept me too busy for this hobby. I don't have much on there and have to clean it up a bit. It's not really a vid-astronomy site, more of a 'me and the hobby' type thing. Once I get my Video set up I will then add that to it.
