Hi all,
Just thought i would post this video as it may be of help to someone new using this camera to work out how to set sense-up using the LN300. Its a little fast but basically keep sense-up OFF and use Electrical shutter to set the sense-up level.
It also shows the difference in view between x512 and x1024 and the amount of time it takes to adjust.
Target is M27

Yeah, I agree John, I got 1 minute 10 seconds too. That's a long time for a 10 second increase. Oh well, the result is still good so the wait is minor when it is worth it Thanks for showing us Chris.

Yep it sure does take a while for the changes to kick in (it can be annoying when changing settings all the time to try and improve the image and your outside freezing!).
I would say though that the sammy tries to update instantly however the image is horrible for at least a minute after changing the sens-up settings from x256 to x512. The LN seems to wait till the image has settled down before it shows it. Theres prob not much difference in the time both cameras take to give a good image after making a change.

I was going to make a new thread but this video clearly shows my issue.
Can i ask if any of you know why im getting this rainbow effect on the stars? i.e. they are pink and green and blue then change in the next frame to other mad colours? looks daft.

I've read that it could be the different temperatures of the stars and the atmosphere can cause this, and I've seen this in other photo's too
or it may be warm or hot pixels

Chris, I just watched your video again to see what you mean. But I don't see any rainbow coloured stars, or any stars at all changing colours.

Watch it again in fullscreen mode Its even more noticeable when viewing on my tv when not using a laptop. There is bright green and red and purple and they change with each frame. The circled ones show it.

Chris, take some video with the cap on, then capture a single frame and then you can compare it with the photo above

Sorry Chris but I still can't see any changing colours. I went to full screen and all your stars stay exactly the same right through the whole video on my laptop.
Hot pixels can flicker in funny colours though.

Chris, i'm the same as Ken. there is different coloured stars but they're not changing colour or flickering, must be hot pixels, I've just looked at my CR6 with the cap on and exposure at x512 and there is a shed load of hot pixels.

I hate to say it Chris Im not seeing anything major there, let the camera run at 1024 for 10 mins with lens cover on and take a short video. That will show whats going on. Over all I think is fine.
