No Good Davy. I had the same many years ago. After the doc removed the metal splinter I had it still felt like a hot poker in my eye for about 3 days afterwards!
I guess you won't be at band performance tonight then.

Well gleneagles is a massive place. .we went in trade person entrance, cleared security and were escorted to a conference room to tune up waited an hour ,,checked where we were playing and planned our show. .we got into band formation and played the green hills set and marched to main entrance . a few porsche and Ferrari cars and a very nice Bentley were outside it. We formed a semi circle and played various sets before marching off playing Scotland the brave set. It went very well. .what a hotel, hundreds of staff and the place just oozed class and you got to see how the other half lived...lol... Totally knackered when got home..slept like a log and its a few hours before I need to start again, , , playing today in Glasgow at a commonwealth games parade..no rest for the wicked.

Good luck with your eye davy and take care particularly if you only have one good one. There have been a number of comments in the last few weeks about eye trouble. I had a cataract removed 12 days ago and the other will probably have to be done in the next year.(I'm old before my time at 60). Its great to be able to see clearly again at least with one eye. No clear skies for 2 weeks so I havent been able to test it out on a scope. Paul

Hi, I had both cataracts done about 2-3 years back, two weeks apart. The difference in clarity and sky colours is remarkable. Apart from cataract changes, my eyes are in perfect condition, so I benefit most from new IOL's (Inter ocular lenses) In my last 7 years before I retired, I used to do sessional work with the eye surgeon who did my cataracts, I used to do his fluorescence retinal angiography on his patients, picasaweb.google.com/109921669020426367250/RetinalAngiography?authuser=0&feat=directlink so naturally I was well looked after. Top eye surgeon, (having worked in previous major eye clinics and videotaped all their eye surgical procedures in theatre, I knew who was THE man to have do mine! insider trading!!) In all I performed over 5,000 retinal angiogram's, so a lot of folks in Tasmania know me through a not very pleasant procedure! I can now see the morning and evening skies have a very delicate violet tint because generally old cataracts are a tobacco yellow/brown tint, which filters out blue light making skies looking slate blue in colour. Also makes a big difference in astro image processing and painting, some peoples images/painting with always look too vivid in certain colours. Anyway, take care of the mark one eyeballs, they are such a valuable part of us. Clear skies... Shevill

G'day Shevill I am a new member and didnt want to be in a situation where 90% of my posts were about my eye.My cataract came on very quickly and it looks like the other is going to do the same. However it is great to be able to see again.
That is a lot of experience you are bringing to this forum ....and from many aspects. Paul
