Nice one Allan I have ordered a peephole door lens for an all sky project it is 160 deg viewing at about £3.00 can't go wrong I suspect that board with the yellow wires is the 24 volt board which I still can't remove from the Sammy 2000 and it really isn't needed but is well integrated Good job!!

Thanks guys but perhaps you misses the point. This little beasty links the main board to the sensor board...........and I ripped it while putting the cam back together. Without this connection the camera is a bust, no picture, just a blank screen. Luckily I have the other cam, so maybe in the future I will pinch the cable and try again. I'm miffed that I didn't get a sky view just to see the fov and how it worked.

Yes I did hate it Ken. All that effort just to fail at the last hurdle. If i try again with a new ribbon I'm gonna cut the casing in half so that it just slots over the internal chassis rather than sliding the chassis through the casing. If I had thought of that before, I wouldn't have torn the ribbon.

I'm not that good at soldering Johnno. There must be 40-50 connections in the ribbon and only about .5mm apart.

Well curiosity got the better of me and I cannibalised the other SCZ 3370 for the ribbon so that I could see if I could make an allsky cam work. Well yes is the answer. I had to make a couple more modifications to the inner chassis so that I would not damage this ribbon, and I cut the casing in half so that I could just place it over the innards rather than sliding the innards through the casing. As I said it now works with a board lens although the fov is not great. Here is a pic with the board lens This is the unmodded SCZ 3370 at its widest. So as you can see, I gained very little and to increase the fov I would need a wider board lens. I will probably rebuild one of the cams back to its native state and keep it for a security cam coz that's what it does best. I didn't find that it had a good enough resolution for my needs. I bought a better cam for allsky/ meteor watch so will use that instead. VC58EP Better resolution, and works well with the computer 2.8mm lens.

Yes, its all fun and games Karl. The last image was with this cam. rfconcepts.co.uk/camera-wdr-58ep-2686.htmlI just need to build the domed housing for it and mount it up on the shed roof where I get a better view.
