Hi All, Can anyone recommend a good video editing program, mostly covering the basics? Crop, enlarge image (not canvas), Etc. I have seen one where you edit the first frame and the process is repeated throughout the video. I think it was a preload in one of my old computers, but I can't remember the name of it. As an example to my thoughts:::: If I took a video of mars, I would like to enlarge it slightly before loading it into Registax. If Mars is bouncing around a bit (Bad video), then you could draw a box around the area you wanted to work on.
If this has been discussed elsewhere on this forum, I apologize. Perhaps someone could send me a link.
Cheers
Pete.

Hi Pete I think vurtualdub can do this using bicubic method then save as avi again but never tried it. Might have a go myself.

Yep, Virtualdub awesome! That's what I use to convert individual frames to .png and delete bad frames.

Hi Carl, erictim, Just downloaded, seems brilliant for a free program, although I haven't tried it out yet. I have a pretty good desktop, quad processor, 8 Gigs of RAM, running Windows 7, so I shouldn't have any trouble running it. Although, saying that, I tried setting a couple of pre-filters in Registax, the program did warn me it would slow down the processing, 4 hours later I cancelled LOL. It didn't crash and all eight CPUs were running flat out. Anyway, thanks for the info Pete.

Were you using prefilters in registax or Virtualdub? Hi, Sorry about not getting back sooner. Notification isn't working again. It was Registax, it could have crashed but like I said my processors were running flat out. I heard on Youtube that sometimes Registax will show as 'Not Responding' in Task Manager, but this is because its working in the background. Don't know if this is correct, its where I got the idea to check the processors. It did come up as 'Program not responding !!! Cheers All Pete.
