Hi All, Forget the quiet, 'I'm Back' LOL. Just posted some photo's on this site, don't forget these are my first attempt. Davy :: Did you get my message I posted about a new eyepiece,it arrived the day after I ordered it, free postage as well. Excellent service. Weather down here (Or up for Dragon Man LOL) is a total wipeout. Managed to get a hour on Sunday Night, enough gap in the clouds to see Jupiter, and the moon just before it set. Catch you all later Pete.

While its quiet, here's a funny story from a few days ago. It always amazes me at the lack of knowledge the general public have about Astronomical events. I received a phone text message from a chap in Melbourne asking if he could come up to our Astro Club site on the Friday Night of the Meteor shower (Eta Aquirids - happening tonight)). I said to him that he would be able to see these Meteors from most places, he didn't necessarily have to travel 3 hours to come here to see it. He said he would be happy to travel the 3 hours to get to a dark site. I said it would be cloudy on the night so no-one will see it anyway. The forecast is for rain an cloud. He then said that he is a fool for not checking the weather forecast before planning his trip away to see 'the meteor'. I said "The meteor?" He replied back "Yes, I was prepared to travel to see the Meteor. I hear it will be good. Thanks anyway" I haven't heard from him again. To come all this way to see 'the Meteor', it must be moving through the sky awfully slow Oh well, his text messages entertained me for 5 minutes

I can't tell you how many of my neighbors asked me if I was out viewing the blood moon. There was mad storms all night. Its as if people just don't think. Like yeah I was out in the rain with my x-ray telescope that can see through clouds. Good thing it was raining or all that blood would have made a mess.

Hi All, Understanding Astronomy' Thats a laugh at my old address. We moved about 6 months ago. I lived in an Apartment block, being a nice day and the promise of a clear night I set my telescope up on my balcony, overlooking Swansea Bay. An hour later the police was at my door, asking me why I had a telescope set up overlooking other apartments. I showed them my telescope, the direction it was pointing and also showed them that it was impossible to look into another apartment. They said that one of the other residents had complained. Long story short::They made me remove it from my balcony. One of the reasons we moved. Cheers Pete.
