How did it karl..never got chance to check it out Hi Davy,
Not bad but very hazy so not as good as expected! Here was my first attempt at Mars with the Mallincam. With better seeing this would have been quite impressive.

Many experienced Astrophotographers often have a hard time capturing Mars, purely because Mars is a pain in the Butt to photograph.
Not only because of our atmosphere, but because of Mars' atmosphere. The whole surface is often shrouded in dust storms obliterating any possible chance of capturing detail.
You've done well Karl because I can see the dark Mares in your images!

Got no broadband at the moment mate. A school boy error left me without it till next week when i get the fibre optic thing installed haha. The weather recently has been brutal too man. I setup the other night as it was meant to be clear but was clouded out instantly. I did manage to test out broadcasting using my phones internet and it seemed fine from what i can tell. So good to know for possible use at a dark site one day

That is interesting and yeah very useful for a dark site. That is definitely something I want to try and do this year, remote still but from a comfy caravan

Had another quick go last night but my mount is still giving me problems! I don't think it's power as the reading on the HC was 12-12.1v so as it should be. Maybe the HC has had it! Anyway for the few seconds I managed to track I had excellent views! I was testing out the SCB-2000 for the first time and was very pleased. The atmosphere was boiling which no doubt was made worse with the heat rising from the house next door but still very impressive.
Anyway here are a couple of quick snaps taken in Miloslick.

Yeh man totally. I just know getting away from this light pollution is gonna be a game changer! Driving home late the other night i was high up and it was cloudy but i could see far in all directions. To my left over glasgow and my town was just a complete orange sky and to my right was just total darkness. Over a year in astronomy and ive never ventured outside my garden once... poor show lol

I've been out once or twice but still in the village so no change on LP but 360 degrees of sky! Let me know if you discover something amazing as I'd be up for joining you. Only downside is that is would have to be a last minute decision based on a cast iron weather forecast! I'm sure one or two others may join us or we can be the pioneers!!
