Hi folks.
Still working my way back into astronomy. weather been pretty poor out my way.so been working on the scopemobile and taking weekend trips..the van has the big helios binoculars on board with a tripod but it's mot a cloud buster.
The scopemobile is now fitted with a power panel I 3d printed.. it holds a 12v socket and usb socket ( waterproof) and fitted to the outside sill lip on drivers side got it wired up to another fusebox and a flick switch..it will power a mount and the USB will control a camera.
.no running cables through open doors or windows.
Ordered a marine interior light to try in the van..it has 20 white led lights and 10 red lights worked from a three way switch.. this will safe wast the look of interior with red led lights all over it..
Scoope wise got uncle John's eq8 set up at flat window,,but no first light due to weather..
Today I went to Mugdock country park near milingavie just outside Glasgow,, the astronomical society of glasgow were opening there observatory at the site, so took my grandson with me to hold my hand lol..
Was a nice wee set up.. it has an eq8r as it's mount on a concrete pier built into foundations and 14" celestron scope on it.. getting controlled via cdc and eqmod..zwo cooled camera ,rotator and filter wheel.
Was made very welcome and liked there presented talk and goals for the future..I was so impressed I joined up as a member.. was something I thought I would never do.. I always done the lobe wolf astronomy.. time to run with the pack for a while lol
They have the use of parts of the Mugdock Park visitor centre..including a very nice auditorium
The power panel
New interior lighting for van
The eq8
Think that's me got you all up to speed lol
