You made that yourself? Looks amazing man! Very professional! Would not look out of place in a magazine next to the big production scopes!
How long did it take you? Did it work out cost effective in the long run?

Did it work out cost effective in the long run? No it was more expensive, LOL. Servocat is not cheap. But I did it just to say I could. Thanks for the compliment!

Very nice piece of work Lee. Well done mate Thanks Ken! It was originally built to use with my mallincam, but due to my skies I can only see stuff near zenith. I found out real quick that Dob tracking sucks anywhere near zenith. So it got moved to the garage and has sat there since getting my VRC6 and GEM mount. I felt bad about seeing waste away in the garage, so now it has a purpose as a moon and planet scope.

Made a few upgrades to the DOB. First I made new truss tubes. Now they are long enough for eyepieces and camera (no focal reduction) to reach focus. Second was to add a Telrad finder. Now without focal reduction, not having a finder made even the moon an impossible task without a finder.

Ha ha, Yes its surprising how one of the biggest objects in the sky can be so hard to find without some sort of finder. I used to spend ages just trying to get the sun in an eyepeice before I made a sol finder. Now it takes seconds.
