One of my favourite stars! DY Crucis Carbon Star. DY Crucis is a little red star that sits right up close next to Becrux (Beta Crucis, Mimosa)I have posted images on the net before of DY Crucis but not lately, so I thought I would try another. The sky is total crap tonight and there's not much up there worth imaging so had to push hard to get this one Canon 450d, 200mm Newtonian. 4 x 5 seconds, stacked in Sequator. Denoise in PS.

Nice! Do you use a bahtinov (sp?) mask for focusing? I just got a USB controlled focuser for my SCT and hope to get better at focusing with deep sky.

Yes Rick, I always use a Bahtinov Mask for focusing. I have tried (regularly) using FWHM levels and dot metering, but a simple Bahtinov Mask always gives me a more accurate result.
