For an opportunity of a very interesting Astro image, comet 7P Pons-Winnecke will be passing right by the Helix Nebula on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (15th, 16th June 2021). It would make a fascinating pic with both in the frame. I'm definitely going to try for it if this cloud goes Here's a Cartes du Ciel map for Tuesday night

No chance tonight ,Ken. Havent had a clear night for weeks. I have never tried to image a comet. What camera and what exposure settings would you use ? cheers Paul

Cloud and rain here too Paul!
Any camera will do. Use similar exposure lengths as you would for DSO's, not planetary. That way you will get any tail it has.
I will be using my DSLR if it clears up. We still have about 2 weeks to get it. But it would have been nice to get the shot with Helix Nebula in it tonight or tomorrow night.
