Got my dinner and went out to dig car out, Snow up to top of wheel arches and enough snow on roof to make it look like a camper van... Hand brake levers siezed on calipers due to the cold,, what a nightmare,, 40 minutes to get it out,, then took it to train station car park to thaw it out, fuelled it and took it a run to thaw out and get some heat into the brakes. Minus 7 just now,, parked on main road now, so I can get to work

Only an, inch of snow down in the Midlands. Daytime temperature in double figures Mon - Thurs next week, good news for me as the builders doing my kitchen need to put in a new door and brick up the old one. So the bricks/sand/cement will have to be stored inside until then to stop them getting too cold. The Covid nonsense has delayed the start of the job time and again, it's now 13 months since the builders first came to look at the job. Scotsman could not be bothered to clear snow off his car - could it be Davy's car? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-55950942Moorland fires down in SW England - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-56034312Bonkers weather all around the world nowadays. Good news for me is my wife is coming out of hospital today, she has had a back operation, will be nice to have her home again. She has been in there for 2 weeks, could not visit her, only able to take stuff in, longest we have been apart in nearly 31 years. Stay safe everyone.

Harry, give best regards to the wife,, and glad to hear Mrs getting home,, during lock down it's not been good for families mental health.
-6 this morning,, car has as much frost inside as outside 😑. Even though I'm parked on a main road it's still a few wheel spins to get out.
Harry the car with snow, mine was exactly the the same,, I cleared mine at - 7,, bitterly cold,,

Wife is home at last, they started to do the discharge paperwork on Thursday as it takes 24 hours to process apparently. She was ready at 6.00am on Friday waiting to come home, ambulance wasn't booked until around 2pm, at 8pm I called the hospital and they didn't know how long it would be before she was picked up. I didn't want to pick her up as with her limited mobility she would have better off in the ambulance. Picked her up and we got home then got a phone call around half an hour later asking if she was at home as the ambulance had arrived to pick her up. Left hand does not know what right hand is doing in our health service, which is a shame as there are loads of brilliant people in our hospitals, not supported properly by the system.
She is catching up on her sleep now, 14 days worth of sleepless nights!
Bonkers weather again Mon - Wed 12 degrees during the day & 7 degrees at night, good news for the builders doing my kitchen, old door will get bricked up and new door put in before it turns cold again.

Brilliant news Harry,, bet she got up and made your breakfast lol,,
The health service in Britain could be the best in the world if the government invetested in it properly,, nurses are fantastic,, some doctors could do with a boot up the arse with there stuck up attitudes at times,,
Left one stuck for words once,, was Meant to be diagnosing Carol and told her it was in her mind,, she told me, and when doctor came back in he got a right bollocking from me,, I told him him I was a mechanic and an engine can't say,, hey I feel sore here,, where a patient can,, male nurse thought he would come in and bully boy me,, told him to stand down or he would be in a lawyers letter to the health board,, Doctor soon changed his attitude.
When he left the folk visiting patients in the same bit started clapping,, seemingly Carol wasn't only one being treated like an idiot. Thankfully this was a one off and majority are true professionals,,

I would not cope in weather like that. I am sure I would perish. Too cold for astronomy. Hope your wife is ok Harry. Victoria is locked down for 5 days because of 14 cases in Melbourne. Regional Victoria has not seen a case for months . Who invented this circuit breaker?
cheers Paul

Hi Paul,, would like to say you get used to it,, when I was a boy,, snow and bad weather from November on was very regular and lasted weeks,, now with climate change its all over the place,, had flowers appearing earlier,, snow is more common after January and it just appears and can dump 6 inches or snow during the night. Few folk on astronomy Scotland Facebook group are out taking images from their gardens ect,, but with only necessary travel due to covid it's pretty poor. I'm four flights up in my flat and once I go out the main door it's snow and ice,, takes all your time to stay on your feet,, so no chance am I taking equipment out,, the car is a wee walk away parked on main road,, my car park is still snowed out and ice as well,, can hear cars spinning there wheels trying to get in and out,, was Meant to be more snow at weekend,, none so far,, Going to work you would think its a polar expedition with all the gear on to keep warm,, working in - 4 to - 6 first thing in the morning

Hi Paul,, would like to say you get used to it,, Not me. I've been living down here in Victoria for 45 years and I still can't handle winter here, and it's nowhere near what you get. Our Summers are stinking hot in the 40's but winter here is long and cold (well, cold in Aussie standards) and I ache and sting and can't get the chill out of my bones. I hate winter, which is probably on par with your Autumn or Spring. (I'm talking temps in 'Celsius')
