WOOO-HOOOO!!!!!! Finally a clear night!!! I spent the whole night helping another member get his gear working correctly, then had enough time to grab a quick session with my own gear. So I quickly did a stack of 3 of the Tarantula Nebula at 20 seconds with the IMX178 in the 150 Reflector. I had a blast Here it is, my first pic in a long time:

Thanks Paul. When I say "a stack of 3" I mean live internal stacking in the capture software, not 3 saved images stacked in Registax etc. In ToupSky capture software I go down to 'Live Stacking' and select 3 The Tarantula Nebula is 1862 light years across. Compare that to M42 the Great Nebula in Orion which is a meagre 24 light years across!

My laptop blew up and now I can't do diddly" Yes, after months of fiddling and FINALLY getting Mikes gear to work, the whole lot went Ka-boom the next time he turned it on OOPS!

here is a single 10sec exposure of the tarantula last night on the rasa with zwo 290. Lot of moonlight.
and another with 10sec x 18 stack. I should have done a 10s x 6 . I suspect the 1 minute would have been pretty much the same as 3 mins cheers Paul

They look good Paul. Your stars are smaller and sharper than in my image. You can tell that the RASA has better resolution than my 150mm Reflector.

Thanks Ken. Maybe thats why I get so crapped off with my lx90. The resolution of the stars on it are nowhere as good as the Rasa or the Reflector. cheers Paul
