Ken got me thinking, 🤔😂
I put up the link to the nina software to see what folk think,, Ken came back with what I thought he would say,,,
Lots of features,,, that we more than likely not need or would use.
Been a while since we had a thread on this,, and things change over the years,, Video astronomy is slightly more used by folks now,, ok,, under various name changes ect and various techniques,, But what are we all using software wise these days.
Equipment wise,, will obviously have some bearing on what we use.

My preference for my kit. Two set ups,, for me on my main rig.
Heq5, evostar ed80, hitecastro focuser. Tethered to laptop.. Running cdc and eqmod Second laptop controls my imaging, If I'm using my Canon 600d,, I prefer using Canon byeos,, it allows me to swap between astrophotography mode and planetary mode( basically video mode) I can't fault it,, easy to use and I have no problem with it.
2nd set up is using my zwo asi178 mc, For this I use sharpcap Pro,, but I keep to the easy stuff,, lol,, this is because I usually just do visual video astronomy with the odd single frame capture.
My portable set up,, will be eq3 Pro with WiFi using skywatcher mobile app, Imaging will be done with Canon camera and byeos

4 different softwares. 3 scopes and 4 cameras (one has a zoom lens, not a scope). - 2 of the scopes/cameras run simultaneously in ToupSky software on the same laptop, - 1 scope/camera runs in PHD2 software on another laptop, - 1 lens/camera (analogue) used as a widefield finderscope runs to a little 7 inch monitor, no software, just a hand controller. - EQ6 Mount is run by Synscan WiFi directed by Cartes du Ciel. That's it. No other software used. Just ToupSky, Cartes du Ciel and PHD2 on the laptops, and Synscan WiFi on my phone, and sometimes I don't even use Cartes du Ciel
