I have been doing a few zoom meetings with my kids who live in Melbourne and adding some video astronomy. I have to be careful to keep it brief with short exposures and stacks . The other night ,they observed 4 galaxies in less than half an hour. They enjoyed that . Didnt overdo it . Every one was happy. Zoom works well with videoastronomy.
Last night ,I tried to be too smart and zoom 2 scopes . I tried too hard and came unstuck
Generally my Rasa has the zwo 290 mono in the dome and the combination is good for galaxies. I have the Esprit 80 with the ZWO 183 color for nebulae etc which is wired up in a small shed and lifted out the door for use. So ,I tried to zoom both scopes to give a bit of variety... galaxies and nebulae. I zoomed one of my daughters to see how that would go. My kids are not backward in coming forward. They tell you how it is. "Dickhead" featured in the assessment.
The setup is that I controlled the zoom ,the 2 scopes and cameras from the bungalow. It has a desktop with 2 screens and another laptop. The dome has a laptop and so does the shed. They are all hardwired by ethernet cabling.
I controlled the dome and the shed by teamviewer in the bungalow. The 2 mounts are wifi controlled with an ipad and an iphone
So, I used 4 computers and an ipad and iphone and the second screen to control zoom..
bungalow
dome
shed
One scope at a time when zooming is the message
cheers
