Moon was out in its glory tonight,, but I was knackered after work and by time I had a king kebab down me, I was out like a light,, had few problems with byeos tonight,, so switched to the 178mc and tried the new zwo software,, It was OK,, recommended to new comers easy to work,, just need to set up my display better,, on planetary mode,, settings just off I thought,, but pleased enough with results for first try,, I suck it on stacking out of curiosity,, it will not image the moon,, its looking for stars to latch on to,, moon was soon out my fov,,
The image of moon looked better on stacking screen,, than on planetary 🙄
To be honest,, I like my dslr and byeos and its not often let me down,,

davy,
Did you notice something weird about planetary vs the Live (stacking module) davy?
In planetary there was an autoguider icon and in there in its guider settings was the usual bunch of pulse settings and other autoguider type stuff to set (or there used to be in the first version - and I haven't bothered downloading Studio since it came out last year). Is the autoguider button/icon still there under planetary? Its weird in there under planetary as there is no autoguide connection in either of the DSO nor the Live (stacking) modules. Weird huh!
I asked Sam from ZWO if that was due to only being able to connect one camera to any one module? IE maybe you use it by opening the planetary module and connect the guider to that open module window, and then open the Live or DSO module and connect the main imaging camera to that open module window? I asked on CN and did not get a reply. It could also be for "surface feature tracking" which some planetary apps do? But I never found out.
But, when version 1 told me a new version was available, the second/new update broke it. Only the DSO module would open. The planetary and Live (stack) modules will not open on my Win7 laptop. No errors reported. It simply shuts down everything Studio.
Update .... I just uninstalled all versions on my laptop and even checked registry searching for anything ZWO or Studio releated. Then did a clean install but still no go. The Studio window opens but try to open planetary and Live modules just shut the main window down without reporting any errors.
I too found Ok for beginners but also as it also only works for ZWO equipment I don't think I will bother with it any more either.
Cheers Howie

Done some captures last night and was OK as we both say,, very basic functions,, something zwo as a leading camera manufacturer should be looking at, in more depth,, getting the best software to go with there cameras. I've used it and,, its quick and fun,, but with more settings it could save some time in post processing

Thanks Davy, but no good to any of us that don't own a ZWO camera. Gives the software a very limited user base.
