For those of us who use DSLR and so get no advantage of using USB3 (unless newest high price camera's) then you can do the following in CCDCIEL (Kstars I think it does this by default):-
While using CCDCIEL you can access the Indi Raw settings which gives more control over a lot of settings - bit like menu on Camera LCD - One of them is image type and size.
You greatly speed up download speeds when using Remote Client type approach change the image type from RAW to Normal JPG (fine or normal) or even Small JPG(fine or normal). This will reduce the time down to 2-3 secs instead of 20 secs. Just remember to change it back to RAW for your mainstream image processing for input into Astrotoaster or the like - yes you can still use Asrotoaster on another machine running Windows - Davy thats what the Samba set up was - it shared folders and can be seen from Windows File Explorer :-)
I am going to suggest to the author to add his to the front Menu for DSLR connections.
Unfortunately todate I haven't been able to get Canon Live viewing to work on CCDCIEL :-(

Note I have found a BUG - it doesn't reset the correct X,Y values when setting the Format type back to RAW - you have to set the Width and Height for your camera manually - have reported this. The Author is going to change CCDCIEL to allow different formats for DSLR (raw, normal, small, tiny etc) so I expect a Test version with the update quite soon - I will let you know how I get on :-)
