Here is ngc 1365 again with the 8 " sct, fr6.3, and 432 camera. 20s x9 stack,on sharpcap, no gain First time I have used the meade 6.3 FR with the 432. Next time I will give no FR (F10) a go. This 432 camera is very sensitive and has given my deforked Lx90 sct a new lease of life. The 432 and rasa 8 combination is so fast, I can rarely go over 15 sec exposure before everything whites out. cheers Paul

I did 1365 again tonight at f10 with the 432. This was 28s x7 stack. I think the deforked lx90 8" gives better images at f4 and f6.3 Here is 1365 done with same scope and camera with night owl fr .4 15s x12 in Jan 2020 cheers Paul

Looks good to me Paul. Notice all the stars are nice and round. Bit hard to see the stellar nurseries at that magnification but the fainter outer parts of the spiral arms show up

Thanks Ken, I think I get more detail with the 432 than with the 294 but I dont have an image of ngc 1365 on the Rasa with the 432.I will do that next chance I get. Here is a previous image with the lx90 8" with the night owl and the 642 IR pass filter. It is 15s x 44 stack . Quality is always a bit ordinary, but detail is ok The lx90,night owl and 432 is a good combination and it is easy to attach a filter. It gives me a FL of 800 The Rasa 8 and 432 is also pretty good combination with a fl of 400. I am not sure yet whether I can get more detail in galaxies than the lx90 night owl combo. It certainly gets me my image a lot faster. I will need to use this combo more often and see I would like to pursue the 642 IR pass filter on the galaxies but filters and Rasa 8 and 432 are a bit of a hassle. I have to attach the ArteSky filter attachment which works for the 432, but the zwo 294 then wont come to focus.I then have to remove the Artesky and attach the starizona filter attachment for the 294. A PITA for someone with my level of patience. Anyway, I have a number of options of FOV's with the 432 using the 2 scopes with options of FL's of 400,800 and over 1200. I dont think I will pursue any more images at the native f10 and FL of 2000 of the lx90 .They are awful in my hands. I have got a lot of stuff to try out. cheers Paul

Keep safe mate.. Waiting to see what happens at my work. We do some electrical work for ambulance service,, not as much as before so don't know if we would be asked to help cover for them,, do work for haulage side of Marks and Spencers supermarket and for local council.. Just need to see what happens,, few folk have phoned in telling us they have been told to shut down,, restaurants, pubs, clubs, sport events, all shut from Friday night,, motorway traffic very very light

Paul, Wow, 1365 is even smaller now but those other galaxies sure do stand out nicely Davy, yeah, Australia is shut down now too. All pubs, clubs, movie theatres, Gyms, restaurants, churches etc etc, and borders between states, all shut.

Thanks Ken. I think the 432 on the Rasa did a better job than the 294 for this galaxy. They were all 3 minute total I was quite happy with the 432 on the lx90 8" with the night owl. An advantage of the lx90/ night owl is the ease of adding filters compared to the Rasa. The 642 -IR pass filter is showing some promise for galaxies. I will start using it more on moonlit nights. On the other topic that is on everyone's mind,it is the calm before the storm in Bendigo. Normal work has stopped to prepare for the deluge. My part time work is about to go full time. cheers Paul

a lot of people here in the uk are flouting the warnings of covid19, congregating on beaches and leisure parks,if they looked up at the stars , they would be relatively safer.

Got away from work just after 10am so I'm now in solitary confinement, 16 ltrs of ginger,, (pop) to keep me going 😁 Plans,, building a tuition website for the band with practice material, this will work alongside the private Facebook group. And some 3d printing,, bit of embroidery and sort out power for mount and raspberry for astronomy We are due for an Artic blast at the weekend and next week so you should not be sweating too much. It would take a week or two to get through 16ltrs of ginger pop even with the wife's help! I've had a wee dram of Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie tonight, one of my best single malt purchases since I changed from blended whisky. Aberlour Abudnah is still my favourite, though I'm only having it occasionally as it has more or less doubled in price. Biggest disappointment has been Glenmorangie 18 year old, and it was the most expensive single malt I've bought so far. Old Poultney, have had 3 bottles, 2 special editions, all good, brought some Tullibardine 228 & Tomitoul from Scotland last time I was there, went round the Old Poultney distillery, brilliant tour as there was only me and the wife and the girl doing the tour. Jura Superstition is a good peaty/smoky dram as it is not too strong a taste.
I have some cheap malt whisky in my collection all of which have now been downgraded to medicinal duty only!
Virtual band practice - does that mean that everyone gets to hear the band anyway not just the ones near the practice hall? Slow down Davy we are supposed to be professional couch potatoes until further notice!
Stay safe everyone
