Nice work Chris! I really don't know how you blokes manage to pull out the colour and the detail in such badly Light Polluted skies. My hat is off to you

Cheers Guys. Carl i wont be able to try orion neb for a while I was having a look and it seems orion neb NEVER comes into my limited view from my garden... Will need to take the ETX up to my mates house or to a dark site for that one. Ken it really is amazing the difference in views the video camera brings when comparing visual and video from my light polluted garden!

Heres a capture i took of M82 a few weeks ago. Was going to add in some other galaxies but they just dont look as good so thought this deserved its own video. It really does lose a lot of quality compared to the raw avi file tho

Cheers lads! Davy... i took this like 3 weeks ago the day i made that 'Clear tonight' thread with the big list of objects to look at! The weather since has been absolutely disgusting!!! I did get a tiny sniff of the stars the other night when i fake aligned my scope indoors with the patio doors open for 10 mins then the clouds and hail stones returned!

Hey guys last night after setting up... then packing up due to rain... the clouds went away for a short time so i setup again. Jupiter was so bright and was just moving into the gap between my house and next door so i setup and had a proper go at jupiter using a camera for the first time. I didnt realise how much of a tricky little bugger he is! So much faffing about with settings trying to get the best view! I only had maybe 30mins or so before it went behind next doors house so it was all a bit rushed. In the mad rush to get setup i stupidly forgot to remove the 0.5 reducer....school boy error! So here is a very small jupiter I must admit i wasnt overly impressed... was expecting better to be honest! I will try again without the reducer next time im out.

Looked ok mate..its all a learning curve was actually quite informative because we can see you working with different settings and it's impact on the image...

Chris, don't worry about the size of Joop in your Video. It was perfect for this display!
I am quite impressed with how you show the Moons then go back to the planet again, which shows banding. Be happy with it. Non-astro people will be blown away with it because they probably don't know that we can see banding or the Moons.
Well done, I liked it.

Cheers guys. Im relatively happy for a first attempt. I just expected more as ive seen some people get much better results with a webcam... I will be revisiting it extensively in a few weeks when its better positioned for me at a more reasonable time There just seemed to be SOOO many options and combinations of things i could change that gave a slightly different view. Honestly had no idea it would be as tricky to capture!

Good job Chris I used the same exposure last time I was out. I think the key to Jupiter is high mag, your scope with a barlow should be pretty good.
