raspberry ,,, my latest venture,, why ,, the skies are not friendly and set up of equipment has to be fast and portable. so not wishing to spend masses of money on ,,, asiair pro ect,,and no harm to anyone who has one or wants one,, i want to get something tailor made for me. easy to install and operate. we have spoke on here about k stars ect and its a bit overloaded for video astronomy ,,cdc is my choice to use and we have the opertunity to work alongside astroberry in creating a system that is tailored to video astronomy
i have a raspberry pi4 4gb,,, 128 mini sd card and a case that holds the pi and a 3.5" screen.. what would i like to be able to use the screen at the scope to make adjustments before i head back into the car and remote operate from laptop.. control a canon dslr camera or my zwo 178 colour camera or even both portable mount azgti or sw adventurer and sw allview

Hmm - get that Polish maniac off this forum - Hi Radekk hope you are well. LOL Hi Davy , Still reaching for the stars and adding hardware - thats why Scoland is sinking into the sea - overloaded LOL Anyway - here is an attached screen print of a new piece of software I have discovered called ASTRODMX which runs of RPI3b+ and probably RPI4 (not tried it). I am connected to the RPI3b+ ny Wifi and the RPI3b+ is acting as the Wifi Server. This has the simple camera interface - says it works with ZWO,QHY and some DSLR - works with my Canon 100d no problem. I suspect it uses GPHOTO2 like Indi but the author has yet to reply to my questions! Anyway as you can see I have attached an image taken from inside my bedroom as part of my testing. It maybe of some interest as it has a very simple GUI and is not very resources hungry. The RPI3b+ I am using is using the Std Astroberry image as supplied by Radekk but with this software added. As part of this test I am running CDC (Cartes Du Ciel) to control the mount (an old SW AZGOTO using a std Indi driver for Skywatcher ALT-Az) but via an USB Serial(TTL) cable made by me. There's one problem Astrodmx doesn't control mounts or much else apart from Camera's and ZWO filter Wheels - weird)but the software is relatively new. Haven't tried ZWO camera's but they say its good to go. hey have also used some camera devices your fellow "down Under" people are perhaps more familiar with SVBONY ? Anyways I have attached some pictures of the 2 programs being used for real - just not outside (no clear skies as per normal UK weaher). I still think you are mad using a touch screen on the RPI4 but each o there own. Hint you may have had beter luck using a HDMI connected touch screen - or is that what you have attached ? I just use the RPI and a laptop(Windows Tablet) or desktop(at home) and VNC for everything via the browser (its called NOVNC and comes as std with Astroberry - thanks again Radekk) There other ways as I have said before to NOT use EKOS/Kstars (e.g. CCDCIEL which I also use together with ASCOM and INDI at the same time). If you need any help or questions answered just ask - I am sure Radekk will answer if not I will try.

The built in screen may work,, but like chess you plan many moons ahead,, 😂 of course I have a external hdmi screen lol. Good seeing you back in

Well for video astronomy we have an opportunity to play around with ideas and test them out,, think we are all of the mindset that we aren't in it for the money,, just making astronomy better hobby,, plenty of space on this forum and nobody to pull our chains.. 😂😁 Just the way I like it

Obviously a few folk around who don't want to or are on a budget and won't go down the route of getting a asiair Pro.. This isn't a put down of their kit( they have done well for astronomy) but an option, a lot cheaper option but doesn't mean it has to be inferior,, We can put together a system that allows us to use what we need,, Allows developers to see what works best.
Biggest hurdle I found was conflicting information,, scattered over forums,, What I would like to see is a complete download to a sd card. Astoberry,, cdc, ccdeiel ect.. This is a basic set up for your pi to do video astronomy. And move on to an intermediate set up or a cross over between astrophotography and video astronomy. To a more advanced set up for astrophotography.. Can't see how we can't achieve this,, but would like ideas of how we can achieve it

OK you have to input some details - scope details, location etc but you have to do this anyway with any software. Link to be found www.astroberry.ioThe biggest stumbling block,IMHO, is live stacking - IMO and experience I would not try and do this on any RPI - I would just use latest Astrotoaster(DSLR's) to pick remote folder provided by Astroberry as default (SMB on Linux for tech minded). Same with Sharpcap as it has a folder monitor option - but I will admit I have never tried this function in Sharpcap. To be fair what do you expect from a £75 PC ? There is no panacea IMO
