As part of my research into stellarmate and looking at new ways to do video astronomy,, I thought lets have a look at the software side . if the software side is not up to the level I need or want then its not going to make me buy the stellarmate. so I have downloaded the software on to my windows 10 laptop ,, acer aspire es15.
so the screen isn't far away from the style of cartes de ceil,, but we have the ekos system within kstars

So just been working my way around kstars and to be honest I like cdc better,, the ekos section looks OK,, still to try and hook up to the heq5 and test. Been looking through the Web,, forums,, websites and Facebook groups and think a lot of people prefer thee cdc and state it would be good to get ekos separate.

I agree Davy. I tried Kstars a few years back and didn't like it, and I reverted back to CDC. Hey, it was worth a try

No a complete waste of time. Cdc can be put on the raspberry pi4 Seen the bare bones rpi4 for £56 approx,, and that would be not bad,, but not any better than say sky watcher WiFi app. What we would need is a bit of camera software to interface as well,, have seen Windows 10 can be put on the rpi4 as well.. Still going to look into things more,, still potentially a good wee board to get linked to astronomy.. Still early days..
