For those of you who got a Rasa 8 for Christmas or are contemplating buying one, there are considerable extra costs associated with filters or filter adapters. I have had the Rasa for over a year now. 12 months ago the only filter available was the Celestron Rasa8 light pollution filter. A good filter but expensive and has a diameter of 46 mm . There was no way to connect 2" filters at that time and this was your only choice
Later came the Starizona filter slider for 2" filters but you could only connect ASI 1600, 294 and 183 cameras. No other cameras would fit.
In December ,I purchased an ARTESKY-Rasa8" filter adapter which will enable any 2" filter to be attached to the Rasa8. I havent used this yet but I see no reason why it wont work. The Rasa8 has been put on the shelf for summer as it sits on the EQ6-R in the Skyshed Pod. The pod is essentially a pizza oven in summer so, rather than dis-assemble it each night , I put it away until the 40 C plus days calm down and Australia stops burning.
Back on the topic, all the filter adapters work ok, but it can be quite expensive.
cheers Paul
