what a bummer Hemmi, all the work you've done to get it up and running. Do you know what caused it to pack in?

what a bummer Hemmi, all the work you've done to get it up and running. Do you know what caused it to pack in? The power supply I was using is bad. It states 12v DC on it, but when I measured it, it is actually putting out over 18v. My guess is that over time it just blew the voltage regulator on the camera. Its way to small to replace, the camera is just junk now. I guess there is a lesson to learn here, measure your power supplies first

Was it an unregulated supply? They will put out that voltage until they are under a load. Then they drop to 12. Found this with one when I measured it.

It was unregulated transformer type, I can't be sure it was the supply. Really have no idea.

Hemmi has this cam got any sense up. The reason I ask is if it uses LEDs to work then it's blind in the dark.

Belay my last, Amazon never shipped the camera and now its a 1-2 month wait. Screw that, so I ordered 2 refurbished cameras off ebay. Samsung SCC-B5398 - weatherproof dome 2.8~11 mm auto iris lens 1/3 super had A-1 chipset Min. Illumination: 0.00023Lux (F1.2, 15 IRE, Sens-Up 512x) Samsung SCC-B5396 - weatherproof dome 2.5~6 mm auto iris lens 1/3 super had A-1 chipset Min. Illumination: 0.00023Lux (F1.2, 15 IRE, Sens-Up 512x) Got both for the same price as the Amazon camera. And these both support coaxiton (UTC) www.security365iq.com/avcat/images/documents/dataSheet/SCC-B5396-8_English_Spec.pdf

Instead of having 180degree, I'll just use 2 camera to capture most of my available sky real estate

These have the same sensor as the sdc-435 with the A1 DSP, Same DSP as Ken's SCC-a2333. Since my house blocks 50% of the sky, I figure without having to mod these at all, both should cover most of the sky.
