I received a pleasant surprise when one of our Astro club members new Guidescope arrived. I am always wary of strange brand names, especially on ebay. So when Mike ordered his new guidescope on ebay we hoped it would be at least 'reasonable'. Several days later his Guidescope arrived and on unpacking it we were both in awe of the quality of this relatively unknown brand. It is a 50mm Guidescope in fully adjustable guide rind and small dovetail to slide straight into the Skywatcher style Finderscope Dovetail saddle. It has a buttery smooth 2 stage Helical Focuser with etched graduations, nylon tipped Stainless adjustment screws, multi-coated optics, and a beautiful matte finish to the paint. I inserted an eyepiece into it and was amazed at the quality of the optics! On its own it makes a lovely miniature travel scope. The quality is that good. And all this for under $100 delivered. So, I did the obvious. I ordered one for myself Mine arrived today and it is truly a nicely made piece of equipment, especially for the price. Because we have gained some confidence in this company's quality we ordered some IR/UV cut filters from them to try out. I will report after they arrive and after testing. The name is SVBONY. Here's the Guidescope we both bought: The SVBONY company has a large range od Astronomy accessories. Worth looking: svbony.es.aliexpress.com/store/2801114?spm=a219c.10010108.0.0.592f3625naJR5H

I've seen the name and the finder before,, think it was eBay,, I had just bought my orion mini guide scope and this popped up shortly afterwards,, I liked the idea of helical focuser and graduated scale,, would have bought that first had I seen it.. Looking forward to a comprehensive review when ready

It looks very good, the only downside it would have is that it has no illuminated reticle.
