I've made several videos over the years about using simple workflows in iPhoto (Mac), Photogallery (Win) and Lightroom (Mac and Win). I've actually used just these tools to pick up and process the shots from my DSLR bypassing the use of Astrotoaster. If you are using ASI or other cams then obviously you need them to control the camera and also save the images to disk before you can post process them a bit.
But I was mucking around with the recent screengrabs I took of the Astrotoaster window which contained my 60 and 90 second single shots of Eta Carina and M42 while testing my new Rokinon lens. Blow me down if these tweaks on just screengrabs still work! IE It is simply amazing to me that contained within screengrabs (!) of the Astrotoaster window is more "data" to be teased out!
Heck its a screengrab! But the data is hidden in there, I just couldn't get to it with Toaster out there in the field at night. As I state in the video, you should really save the image from Toaster (Sharpcap etc), but all I had to use were the screengrabs!
Also, hopefully this video might help people understand why certain sliders are moved, and when to do that. I've seen a lot of videos showing adjustments where there's no explanation as to why they do this or that. Hopefully I explained what color aberration in the actual image forced me to decide to move some slider or other. If you're experienced with adjustments/post processing or have your own workflow then dont worry too much about that ... but skip to the last 2 minutes and just check out what the final photo's looked like. Considering they were from screengrabs I was blown away.
cheers
